Oh? So, what's on the menu tonight?

[Because he had no doubt that Squalo was cooking-- and he was starting to love Italian food.]

[ Well, yeah, he doesn't want him to die or anything which is more than most people can boast, but it's still kind of passive at the moment. Who knows. ]

[ Squalo's just going to motion at the table once they get there and list what he thinks are the best things. ]

[Koumei can't help but laugh in delight at some of the offered choices from the spread.]

That's a lot of seafood you have prepared-- perfect. I've been dying to try the way you prepare your tuna.

Didn't know you liked seafood. [ He sounds like he approves of it. A lot. ] I fucking love fish and it's my birthday, you do the math.

Really? I can't get enough of my clams and squid, but I love it when a good fillet is cooked right. No one can blame you on your choice here-- unless they're commiting a sin by hating fish.

[He murmured, carefully accepting the offered plate. Finding a fork, he gladly helped himself to a bite-- and grinned.]

Wow! This is excellent-- how did you prepare it?

[Because he knew that handling raw foods was a tricky and delicate process. He really wanted to know Squalo's methods.]

Heh. I'm glad you agree. It's actually pretty simple --

[ Since I have no idea about cooking, let's say he'll gloss over something like this just in considerably less detail and probably skipping over a few steps to just focus on the fish itself. ]

[And Koumei listened with rapt attention, just enjoying listening to the man talk about something he truly appreciated. Though his own cooking skills were little better than making simplistic, rice-based meals, he could appreciate the care and effort that Squalo had taken into preparing this lovely little dish.]

Regardless of how simple it is, it tastes fantastic. Sometimes those are the best kind of meals!
