Mr. Blurryface | Post Fairy Trial | Semi-private
Who: Shingo Izumi, Ankh, maybe a helpful fellow rescuer
What: A Hard Day's Night meets Freaky Friday maybe. A facetwin and fangirls don't mix well.
When: Post Fairy Trial, early afternoon
Where: A mall near Virgo HQ, near a big record store.
Warnings: Ankh curses a lot.
Following Fairy Trial, Shingo decided to try to keep a closer eye on Ankh, when his work schedule allowed. Today, Ankh was doing a promo event at a mall not far from HQ. He was pretty sure he would have enough time on his lunch break to go down there, check it out and get a look at him to see how he was doing. To see if that hand of his was doing that twitchy business on a regular basis, or if that was a one-off thing.
He had traded his uniform shirt for a light blue one, with a somewhat oversized jacket. He didn't want to take the chance of setting him off like he had at the event, so he pulled on a baseball cap and kept his sunglasses on, even when he got inside the mall.
Shingo made his way to the center concourse outside the record store where the event was happening. It wasn't set to start for at least another 15 minutes, but already there was a massive throng of fans, mostly young girls, in a long, winding, line up to a small stage with the cover to Ankh's solo release was on a big poster behind a table.
As he'd been taking all this in, he bumped into someone in the crowd. "Oh, excuse me," he said automatically. He went on his way, and the way the girl he'd bumped into said "Waitaminute," made him glance back.
That was a mistake. "It is!" she said, her face lighting up. She hurried to close the gap between them again.
Shit.
"Please, I gotta have an autograph, they already cut the line off, please!" she started rooting around in her purse for something.
"You've got the wrong idea," Shingo tried to convince her.
"No way! I'd know that jawline anywhere!" Finally, she had produced a CD case and a marker and was pushing it toward him.
Ankh, what kind of fans have you earned? "No, really, I'm not--" they were starting to draw some attention. This was bad. Really bad. He had to defuse this now or it was going to get really messy.
He had training for this, somewhat. Trying to defuse a situation before things got out of hand. "Listen, I know you're excited to see him, but I'm not who you think I am."
"Please!" another girl was insisting, now. That was two--no, three, people that thought he was Ankh. And the small group was steadily growing. He needed a plan. He needed one of Ankh's plans.
All of a sudden, a hand was snatching his sunglasses off from behind. "It is him!" said the first girl, who seemed to have become a kind of ringleader of this little disaster. Someone else was tugging on his hair like it was a wig.
And then there was the screaming, the piercing, fangirl, screaming, which he had only ever heard reserved for boybands before this. Before now, he considered it some harmless, ridiculous thing he would never understand about young girls. But now, it was just terrifying.
So he did the only thing that came to mind to do: he ran. He found a gap in the group and ran as fast as he could. His height helped him get a lead, but the girls were quickly egging on their cohorts and his lead was evaporating as more people joined in.
He had to find someplace to hide, and fast. He had his Virgo credentials on him, maybe he could flash it quick enough for the guy to not realize he wasn't a part of the crew for this. He ran all the way around the outer ring of the concourse, until he saw a tented-off area. But things were about to get worse. Ankh was being lead out from the cordoned-off area by some security and event staff, toward the stage. And their route was about to cross Shingo's.
"Run!" he shouted in advance, but he was pretty sure the chaos behind him more than spoke for itself.

He hoped that it would at least make sure that they won't just go after Shingo. He needed the stupid human, even if it was to get out of this mess and go back to what he was. Free. Greeed. He didn't know what that was yet, but he had an idea that being human was not a part of it.
There was someone walking around calling his name and he gave the human a glance before nodding and slipping out from under the clothing rack to pop up enough to wave. A few moment later, there was the staff member, looking a little harassed and annoyed. Ankh had to spend a few minutes of explaining everything, well, more like explaining what they were doing before they were satisfied with what had happened.

But this was a role he could fall into easily, and pretend the last however-long hadn't happened. He could sort that out on his own time later. For now, Ankh had the priority. His own parts of the explanation were cool and rational, just like giving report as he had so many times.
Appropriately, when Shingo offered to take full responsibility, the staffer barked back with something about him needing a new job. Even if that was a reasonable reaction to a disaster like this, and at an evil, kidnapping, brainwashing, record label, that did sting a little. He'd never been fired from anything before. Arguing about it probably wasn't going to do him any good right now, either. So he just took his lumps as they came.
There was one detail he needed to handle first before things pressed onward as they headed back to where the event was meant to take place. "Would either of you happen to have a pair of sunglasses I can borrow for a little while? Mine got stolen right when everything got started. I have a light sensitivity and it's starting to hurt." He held his hand up at his forehead to try to shield himself. Of course, no such thing existed, but it was a convenient excuse to have them to hide behind. And he was damn sure there would be a few photographers ready and eager to take pictures of the twins together.

With that done, he glanced over at the staffer and sniffed. "Well? Are we still doing this or can I go back and work on that stupid concert?"
