Honestly, Mammon is pretty sure they could get to enjoy this. They don't have to do anything but be pampered and accept a very large allowance. Of course, their paycheck when they carry out an assassination is much larger, and that's half what decides it. Another quarter might be that they actually do like Xanxus as their boss, and another quarter is Gold and Silver's news.

There's no time for playing.

So, contacting him on email, they manage to get a meeting with their dear "papa" at a small out of the way cafe where not too many people will bother them. It's on one of the higher floors of a building, with a nice balcony area that Mammon sits at. As usual, they go with an overly large hoodie that makes their small frame even smaller. It helps sell their childish guide, they've found.

The wait shouldn't be too long for Xanxus, although who knows what's going on inside the label considering the tour promised.

Is that a giant stuffed frog coming her direction. Yes. Yes it is a giant stuffed frog. And behind it is a smiling, eager papa that can't wait to see his little girl. Ever since the Fairy Tale contest, he's been itching to have time with her. More than just dumping a ridiculous amount of allowance on her and treating her to ice cream.

His greeting is warm, almost too warm and too caring for the likes of him. He's really serious about this being a better dad than the one he had thing. He approaches her and plops the frog down on a cafe chair. He just automatically uses Italian. "For you, princess." He then leans and grins at her. "Oh. Your momma says Voooooooi and told me to give you this." And there it is. A warm caring hug and fatherly kiss to the forehead.

Did he just voi and call Squalo Mammon's "mom". You BET he did.

On one hand, Xanxus treating them so fondly has not stopped being something to quietly freak out about.

On the other hand... The giant plush frog appeals to them. A lot. Mammon isn't sure whether to stare more at that or the kiss to their forehead. Maybe they can bring it with them back to Italy and keep it hidden...

Hearing from "Momma", at least, makes them actually smile a little bit. It's good to hear that Squalo is going back to his proper place. The world isn't completely broken now. And he's even "Momma", Bel will be so smug to hear their mockery is correct.

"So Momma couldn't make it? I wanted to see him again." In a form that ISN'T heckling him with Yamamoto's face.

He sits next to her and there's just this soft look. Like he's utterly happy to see her. He still can't get over how much she's grown up. He's glad that his memories of her have come back. He's always wanted a family. So much that evidently be ditches his own and makes one for himself with people he actually gets along with (if you call yelling, throwing things and threatening death getting along).

He frowns just slightly and reaches out to lightly ruffle Mammon's hood. "I'm sorry about that. But your momma thinks it might be dangerous for the both of us to meet you at the same time right now. I know that sounds a bit scarry, but I promise you it's not. I know your momma wants to see you too. Maybe once I can convince him it won't put you in any danger, we can all go do something together. As a family."

So it's that bad, huh... Mammon's pout is 100% natural, although it always it. It's a good thing that the decision to get moving was finally made, although they know they would have done this anyway.

"So does that mean you're not coming back home? I came to get you. Auntie doesn't like taking care of the home alone." It's not a lie. With Xanxus and Squalo gone, well, that leaves Mammon and Lussuria as the ones in charge. That's not in either of their job descriptions... and besides. They need a dark sky to feel at home in.

It is that bad. And they are that paranoid. At least Xanxus is. Besides, that's a hard question to answer. When was he coming home? Did he even want to go back. He's got quite a life here. People love him. Plus, he has the Carnies. He has his family here. He doesn't know if he can just ditch them.

"I don't know. Maybe not yet. I have a promise to keep and I won't break my promises. But as soon as my promise is over, I'll definitely come home." The problem is that the promise is to not to anything crazy. Leaving the label is definitely crazy.

Ugh. Mammon hides their frown into the plush of the large frog. Dammit, a promise is in their way along with all the other nonsense they have to deal with. That's just their luck.

"Is Momma helping you with your promise?" They really hope not. Two idiots to drag back kicking and screaming is enough.

It is, because Xanxus is serious as hell about promises. As much as he wants to make his little girl happy and go back home, he won't break his word. "Momma doesn't know about the promise. I didn't make it to him. I made it to your Auntie Luci." A pause. "You haven't met her yet, but she's good people. She knows more about me than anyone else and we keep each other sane. You'd like her."

Luci.... His bandmate, the lead if Mammon is remembering their research correctly. So she's a major factor, is she? "So that means I'll get to meet her, right?" they ask with their best innocent voice.

She is. She's probably one of the only reasons why he won't leave without a fight. "Of course you will, princess. I'll make it happen. I want you to meet the other second most important woman in my life." Mammon is number one, good for them. "I'll see about finding a way for you to that's safe for everyone."

They feel so honored, except for the part where this means getting him out of Pride is going to be a hassle. They hide a frown against the frog plush, thinking on how to make this work. Clearly meeting Luci is going to need to happen. "Do you think she'd like visiting our home??"

He hums a bit in thought, leaning on his elbows to watch Mammon with far too much fondness. He seems to really adore his "daughter" or at least the idea of being a parent.

"The castle? Do you think the castle is still there? I mean..the stars are all wrong. So the castle might not be there. But if it is, I'd like to take her to our house. I think you and your brother would really like her."

"It is," they assure him, leaving out the whole 'it's in another world and will take a trip through space and time' issue. "He'll like anyone who's interesting enough."

Still, that's an interesting thing to say... "The stars are wrong?"
