[Stuff's floating today.]

[No, really. Gravity seems to have taken a holiday. A couch levitates a foot off the ground. A table gently drifts through the center of the room. A bunch of coffee mugs skate serenely by in midair.]

[In the center of all this, Jecht snores blissfully away -- in a position that put him on the couch before all of this happened. Hell of a power nap.]

[ Squalo casually opens the door, strolls into the penthouse and -- ]

WHAT THE FUUUUCK?!!!!

[ SHIT'S FLYING and it feels like his own feet are separating from the floor, too -- ]

Huh? [With a thump, Jecht drops back down into the couch, which itself drops back down to the ground. As does all the stuff around him, while he sits up, blinking his eyes as he tries to reconcile that sudden jolt.] Hey, what's the shouting?

[ And down goes Squalo. Luckily, he hadn't gotten high so he stays on his feet rather than ungraciously fall on his ass or something, but he still stumbles into the wall on landing. ]

[ He doesn't miss that fucking perfect timing, either. ]

VOOOOOIII, you seriously didn't notice?!! Everything was floating just a moment ago!!

The hell you smoking? [Jecht considers this the most obvious answer to Squalo's weirdness.]

I dunno, the way you've been behaving lately. [For a moment, Jecht's look is particularly shrewd -- though he drops that a second later. That's for another time.] Maybe YOU need a nap.

No way. I know what I saw. [ Scowling, he walks up closer to flop on the other couch. ] Why don't you go sleep again?

[ HE HAS A THEORY. ]

Why don't I? [Jecht sits up, thumping one hand on the arm of the couch.] Because some DUMBASS came in here bellowing at the top of his lungs and now I'm wide damn awake!

YEAH WELL SHIT'S GONE ANTI-GRAV IN HERE!!

[ Alright, they're probably not gonna solve anything by yelling. Maybe it wasn't even coming from Jecht? But what, then? ]

...you noticed anything out of the ordinary today?

Me? Naw. [He's still kind of convinced Squalo's on something, so he squints at him in scrutiny.] Been tired most of the day. Had a kickass jam session last night. Or this morning, I guess.

[ He angrily squints right back. It's a squint-match. ]

Don't let me keep you up, then.

[ he says after having JUST woken him up. ]

[Jecht hasn't forgotten.] Then don't shout like an idiot, dumbass!

[ Roy take a minute to stare and another to reach out and swipe a hand under a couple of the floating objects. No strings. Riiiiight. He had his chemistry and alchemy expertise back but none of it or the mechanical stuff Pride had stuffed in his head promised to be helpful when physics don't work right.

Still, there's an explanation for this. It could be a joke. Jecht might want to know since he's been dragged into it or... It's a little suspicious that Jecht happens to be smack dab in the center of the gravity error. ]

Zmenxahuh? [As the drummer lurches towards wakefulness, the room begins righting itself -- everything drifting back down to the floor. Just as he sits up, the furniture settles perfectly back in place.] What? Leamme alone I had a late night.

[ Sure it just convienently stops when Jecht wakes up. Roy crosses his arms. ]

Never mind. Go back to sleep.

[ Roy stays in place and waits. Maybe they're both dreaming. Or maybe Jecht has some sort of power. To be fair, Roy considers, he regularly breaks the laws of physics by changing the structure of atoms in ways that shouldn't be possible. Jecht defying gravity isn't that far fetched in that context. ]

Well what the hell did you wake me up for? [Problem: Jecht is apparently more interested in being cranky than he is in going back to sleep.]

I thought Kid was calling us to practice again but there was a misunderstanding. You can continue resting.

[ He starts towards the kitchen. If Jecht has no one nearby to be cranky towards then he'll settle in again hopefully. ]

[Roy's got a good handle on him (take notes, Squalo); after another couple minutes of complaining to the air, Jecht settles back down.]

[Give him a few minutes to lapse back into slumber, and you get the furniture slowly drifting into the air again....]

[ Roy makes himself a sandwich while he waits. As he finishes prepping his lunch he see the furniture beginning to float again. The food can wait; he pulls out his phone and starts taking video, walking up to the furniture to get a close up and additional angles. To prove their are no strings involved he swipes his hand above and below the furniture just to make sure it's clear. After a few minutes of footage he's satisfied and he clears his throat loudly. ]

Jecht. Sorry to bother you but there's something you need to see.

[Bothered out of his sleep AGAIN, Jecht lurches upright as the furniture tumbles down, blinking blearily at Roy.] Aww, come on, man, I JUST got back to sleep! What's your deal?

[snapcrackleburn]

[ Roy pulls up the video he just took with his phone and shoves it in Jecht's face. ]

I just recorded this while you were asleep. Notice anything strange?

Yeah, your phone camera sucks!

[That's a reflexive comment, because Jecht is too busy trying to work out how Roy managed to work this prank angle. Obviously a prank, right?]

[Right?]

[ Roy shakes his head. ]

You're welcome to test the camera now if you think it's broken. I didn't do anything to manipulate the video- I wouldn't have had the time any way since I took it immediately before waking you. This has happened twice now, both times while you were there napping.

It appears you have a special ability.
