Octave will shrug off any ruffling - he understands being upset about that, and they're upset that things turned out like they did, too. Which is why they are trying to help as much as they can now, to make it worth while.

Octave will do what he can to heal whatever damage is causing Ankh problems with his understanding. He is a very calm presence.
