THE MOVE

When you're a famous pop star, moving day isn't really that stressful. Maxxie has all the money he could want to hire movers, and the most work he really has to do during the whole affair is deciding where stuff is going to go in his new downtown apartment. He helps move stuff around regardless, and his collection of personal items is actually kind of small, but some stylist comes in from the label and helps him pick out a few new furniture items and it all seems to come together within a matter of hours. It's a huge apartment, open concept, the perfect place to entertain, and it has a pool. Yeah, it's one of those.

During one of his breaks he checks out some of the upscale places within walking distance of his new residence, getting stopped often to sign autographs or answer questions for paparazzi. Maxxie loves it. It's a bright spring day and he's a star on the rise - what's not to love?

Otherwise he invites all his friends to come see the new place, showing off all the features proudly. His favourite is probably the wet bar out by the pool, but he'll happily push the button that raises and lowers the blinds about a thousand times before someone tells him to please stop for the love of god. He's just really excited.

THE PARTY

Everything comes together so quickly that Maxxie has quite enough time to put together an impromptu housewarming party that very night. Of course, for Maxxie, a housewarming party isn't just some cocktail hour for people to bring boring gifts like appliances and interesting throw pillows. No, Maxxie's brand of housewarming party is a complete blowout. He manages to get his hands on enough alcohol to keep an entire houseful of guests blackout drunk all night, and as is his way, there are a number of other mind-altering substances available if you know who to ask. Maxxie himself stays relatively sober, just excited to be playing host for real this time. Even though he has a pleasant buzz going, he's more focused on drifting through the party to make sure everyone's having a good time.

He invites basically everyone he knows, and invites those people to bring a plus one or a plus two or a plus five if they so choose. If you know a guy who knows a guy, you can probably get into this party. There are guards, but Maxxie has convinced them not to worry too much about the guest list that doesn't exist, asking them only to kick out people who start to cause trouble after the fact. He's an inclusive type of guy.

"Yeah." Issues aside, it's a great place. And Terry's happy for him, he is he just finds it hard not to worry. He exhales softly and turns his head a little so he can look back at Maxxie, "gonna miss having you just upstairs though."

Maxxie sighs and gives him a sympathetic smile. "Yeah," he says, "but you can stay here whenever. Just ignore the bodyguards and managers when they come knocking."

[traumatizing]

Terry smiles back and moves his hand over Maxxie's, "some guaranteed privacy though--" Well. Terry glances at the door and the bodyguard standing there, watching the two of them and presumably watching for anyone trying to sneak in. "Mostly privacy," he amends with a small laugh, "that'll be nice."

Maxxie grins at him.

"No more putting on actual clothes just to go get coffee in the morning. Or to watch TV. Or to do anything. We could just spend all our time completely naked in this apartment," he says, his tone indicating that he's probably not looking to do that but it's a fun thing to suggest anyway.

[traumatizing]

Terry laughs and turns so he can face Maxxie, still holding his hand and lacing their fingers together, "we could."

Needless to say, he is not on board with constant nudity.

Maxxie shrugs and takes a step into Terry's space, a pleased grin on his face. "Or not," he says. "I could go either way.

[traumatizing]

"We'll timetable it," Terry says with a thoughtful look on his face, like he's 100% serious about this suggestion, "nudie hour is Thursdays at nine."

Maxxie laughs and takes a drag from his cigarette. He exhales away from Terry before he takes another step in to steal a kiss. It's so peaceful and beautiful and he has such a great boyfriend, it's almost too much.

"You gonna stick around after this party's over?"

[traumatizing]

Terry grins at the kiss and keeps smiling at Maxxie after. It's so easy to push the miniature mountain of anxieties he has to the back of his mind in moments like this, where he doesn't have to worry about anything except... Accidentally headbutting him and breaking his nose or something.

Not that that's a thing Terry worries about.

"Of course. I wouldn't dream of leaving you here alone on your first night in a new place."

"Good, I was worried I was gonna be all alone in that big bed," Maxxie says, not suggestive in the least. He's mostly thinking about cuddling, promise.

[traumatizing]

Terry snorts and puts an arm around Maxxie, leaning in for another quick kiss. "How's it going in there?"

Maxxie glances in the direction of the door inside, his smile fading into something more thoughtful. He wants to be a good host, so he probably should still be in there making sure things are still going smoothly, but Terry is here and it's really comfortable in his arms so he's gonna stay put.

"Well, nothing's broken," he says, after some deliberation, "which I guess means it's probably time for another liquor run."

[traumatizing]

"Is that how you tell?" Terry raises an amused eyebrow, and looks over in the same direction. He doesn't want Maxxie to go, but he will have plenty of time to co-opt all of his attention after the party.

On the other hand, what if he gets up all close and intimate and puts his head on Maxxie's shoulder?

Maxxie smiles and rubs Terry's back with his free hand. "Tired already, babe?"

[traumatizing]

"I'm getting old, Max." He says with all the exaggeration a human being can possibly muster, and turns his face to kiss Maxxie's neck, "I'm also a clingy boyfriend who's not ready to let you go back inside just yet."

[notahobby]

Maxxie hums as he tilts his head for more of that . "I'm alright with that," he says. He takes a drag of his cigarette and exhales slowly, still rubbing Terry's back with his free hand. "I don't want to go back inside yet anyway."

[traumatizing]

Terry kisses him a few more times and lifts his head to look at Maxxie, curling his fingers in the back of his shirt. He has such strong feelings for him it's unreal-- they've grown so fast and so intense, sometimes he can't even look directly at him. He can now though, and he does. Just... Looking at Maxxie for a moment with a small smile before he speaks.

"I know I say this a lot, but you really are amazing."

Maxxie's face gets a little hot whenever Terry looks at him like that, and with the alcohol that effect is only compounded. He smiles softly back at him, a little bashful, and says softly, "careful, or else I'll get a big head."

[traumatizing]

He laughs softly, "I'll buy you some hats to hide that... Unfortunate growth you've got going on." Because they both know neither of them are going to stop being free and easy with the compliments and casual adoration. This is apparently the kind of disgusting couple they are.

Maxxie laughs and starts nosing his way in for a kiss. "How generous of you," he says, brushing his lips against Terry's briefly before he leans in for a real kiss. A good one, on the mouth and everything.

[traumatizing]

Terry hums gently and tightens his arms around Maxxie, pulling him just that extra bit closer for the moment. He could probably stand here like this for hours, just out here in the quiet with Maxxie, away from everyone.

Maxxie pulls out of the kiss for a moment, only to rest his forehead on Terry's shoulder and ball his fists in Terry's shirt, making a gently distressed sound. He's too anxious to let Terry go all of a sudden, and he needs a second here to regroup.

[traumatizing]

That is... not the noise he was expecting. Terry frowns and tilts his head toward Maxxie, bringing a hand up to pet his hair softly.

"What's wrong?"

Maxxie pulls his head back to look up at Terry with a concerned expression.

"Maybe I shouldn't have moved," he says. "I don't want to see you less. They just... they offered and made it sound so good, and I thought being on my own might feel a bit more free, but now I'm worried..."

[traumatizing]

Wow does he have conflicting feelings. Not that he thinks Maxxie having his own place is a bad thing-- losing the convenience of having him so close by sucks, but aside from the label stuff, it's a good thing.

It's just the label stuff that gives him pause.

"Hey-- listen." Terry cups lifts his other hand to cup Maxxie's face, smiling, but obviously concerned too, "I just moved a bunch of my stuff in here. You're not losing me."
