006 ┼ I'm Finding Me Out, I'm Having My Doubts, I'm Losing the Best of Me
Who: Luci & YOU
What: You know what sucks? Everything about the last festival-- especially all the chaos and running. You know what's probably a good idea? Ignoring all of that and having a party. On a yacht.
When: May 20th
Where: The bay outside Vista City
Warnings:IT'S A CARNIVAL CRUISE...!
((Luci just got a strange pay bump and she's using it to regroup after the intense clusterfuck at the last festival-- she's still not sure exactly what happened there, but even though it's probably significant, she'd rather celebrate like one usually does after a lot of work. By renting a yacht for a night. Like people usually do.))

((It's a nice boat. Plenty of food, a couple of bartenders, fire pits, couches, swimsuits for those who need, and music of course. The party is, of course, invite only to keep the paparazzi and gatecrashers and people looking to turn this into a work-venture out, but Luci's given the bouncer clearance to let friends of guests and anybody who seems interesting in-- she knows Luci's type.))
((Try not to get too blitzed and fall overboard!))

And then Luci picks him up, bodily, and pitches him overboard-- partial courtesy to his momentum. Security looks on, tense as Luci rebuttons her jacket.
"Don't let him up. Make him swim."
She wraps an arm around Serena and starts steering her away from the screeching, cursing spectacle. "Let's get you something else."
no subject
"I'm so sorry about making such a commotion at your party," she whispered softly. "You were just trying to make sure everyone had a good time." She leaned in close to Luci, retightening her towel.
no subject
"If that's your thing, then whatever, as long as everybody's having a good time. But I'm not about to let anybody who ignores my rules have any attention."
no subject
"Thank you, for stopping him. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd try it again to someone else." She did like that bikini top, though. "You really are a prince able to come to the rescue," she grinned.
no subject
The locker room has a closet with several bikinis lined up in a row on hangers. Luci gestures to them to indicate Serena should pick out whichever one she likes.
"Nothing noble about insisting people consent. It's supposed to be normal."
no subject
"It should be normal, you're right. And I hope that by striving hard enough and with amazing role models like you around it will be," she offered with a sincere smile. "Ah how do you like this one?" she held up a saturated solid pink halter-top. She held it up to her towel-covered top.
"No all white... oh! But there is this cute black one!"
no subject
She tilts her head at the pink top. "That one does seem to suit you... but I can't deny I wish all those people up there hadn't helped themselves to my color thinking I'd take special notice. You'd probably look just gorgeous in white."
Luci goes to Serena and pushes the black one into place over her towel. "But black it's so bad either."
no subject
"Alright so you do... risky things, maybe, but I mean, you think men and women can save themselves and doesn't have to leave it up to just one person, you don't allow anyone to play games where consent and harassment is concerned, you've never once done anything but be nice to me. Even now, you're helping me when you could have just let a jerk like that get a slap on the wrist. You do just as much good as you do bad. Just because you aren't sugary sweet about everything doesn't make you a bad person."
She turned around, her back to Luci as she adjusted the towel to bring the bikini top under it, eventually letting the towel fall so she could tie the top of the bikini. She turned back around. It covered her a bit more than her original white bikini top but it still fit well enough.
"Well? How does it look?" she asked as she turned from side to side for Luci to examine.

Eventually she just laughs and shakes her head. "You sure you love that fiance of yours?" Rhetorical question-- Luci stands up and offers Serena her arm. "It looks great, let's get back out there."
no subject
At the mention of it looking great, she gave a bright smile, clapping her hands together.
"Ah yay!" she was quick to wrap her arms around the offered arm, leaning in close to Luci in content. "You've put on an amazing party, by the way!"
no subject
"It's alright," Luci says in reference to the party with a little shrug. "I thought hosting it on a boat would prevent it from being the same old drunk and debaucherous night... but it seems to be about the same thing even though were miles from shore."
no subject
"Ah no no no, it is a good party! I promise, and I mean, one drunk jerk among this big of a crowd is really great! Don't let him make you think your party isn't any different from those much harsher parties." She didn't want Luci to be upset regarding her party.
"Besides, you made sure he's gone now."
no subject
Poor Serena. They really do have vastly different definitions of this word.
"It's not just him. Something feels wrong," she admits as they surface back onto the deck. People are standing in groups with drinks, talking and laughing, there's a bong somewhere, people making out in the hot tub, dancing or otherwise rubbing up against each other... "This kind of thing used to be great. People letting go of their world for a night and just feeling something." She sighs and puts her hands in her pockets. "But I don't think they'll remember this after a month or two passes. Just another place they got drunk, or high, or had a one night stand in."
no subject
At the mention, Usagi became a bit more serious and held Luci's hand, pressing her lips together.
"Luci... maybe... something is wrong... because it is... as if you weren't meant to be here, maybe?" she offered. "Maybe they won't remember this place... because the memories here," she wasn't sure how obvious she was being, or maybe she was being to subtle, who knew. "Maybe the memories they have here, that you have here, aren't the proper ones to hold onto, aren't where you and they should really be?"
no subject
Serena's suggestion about why Luci is feeling so off... it rings true in a way. And it's a little too close for comfort, too. Luci frowns, curious, and her eyebrows come together slightly. "Where else would I be...?"
no subject
"You could be away from this, at least... Santiago and Blanche?"

"It's pointless if I'm not performing. If people aren't loving or hating me. I don't care which."
And that isn't sane, Luci knows that, she knows that her drug of choice is attention, someone looking at her. And for that reason, she'll never escape.
no subject
"I could never hate you, even if you did say you were alright with it," she offered with a smile. "I'm never going to hate you no matter what you do to me, even kill me or turn me in to Santiago. It's okay to be scared," she offered. "It's okay if it doesn't make sense. I barely understand it myself."
no subject
"...what do you mean 'turn you in'?"
no subject
"Santiago and Blanche are no fan of me," she says it so easily despite the implications of it all.
