006 ┼ I'm Finding Me Out, I'm Having My Doubts, I'm Losing the Best of Me

What: You know what sucks? Everything about the last festival-- especially all the chaos and running. You know what's probably a good idea? Ignoring all of that and having a party. On a yacht.
When: May 20th
Where: The bay outside Vista City
Warnings: ~~IT'S A CARNIVAL CRUISE...!~~

((Luci just got a strange pay bump and she's using it to regroup after the intense clusterfuck at the last festival-- she's still not sure exactly what happened there, but even though it's probably significant, she'd rather celebrate like one usually does after a lot of work. By renting a yacht for a night. Like people usually do.))

((It's a nice boat. Plenty of food, a couple of bartenders, fire pits, couches, swimsuits for those who need, and music of course. The party is, of course, invite only to keep the paparazzi and gatecrashers and people looking to turn this into a work-venture out, but Luci's given the bouncer clearance to let friends of guests and anybody who seems interesting in-- she knows Luci's type.))

[Friends of guests on the invite list? Cheeeeeck. Getting too blitzed and falling overboard? Raincheck! Who knows, the night is young. Apparently for some it's been going on for a while, as evidenced by behavior of the exceptionally far and gone persons wandering the deck like the walking dead. One person not amongst those ranks would be a dear bandmate himself, Shinichi, seemingly keeping his shit together. What a surprise.

Except to someone who knows him well enough, like Roxas here, those conveniently frequent trips to the bathroom and that energetic, jittery self of his that springs forth immediately after indicates anything but keeping his shit together. Damnit. This is going to go off on the deep end.

But, honestly, Roxas isn't one to talk; his only leg up in their situations combined is that he's not taking as many drugs/substances. Clearly, that makes it less terrible on his end. That makes him more able to help out.

So when he has a moment, after sipping a few and watching this act go on a few rounds, eventually he's filled with enough determination to sneak into the bathroom right after Shin- should've locked it- hoping to at least slow down what is inevitably going to be total self destruction.]

[Shin had gotten a bit sloppy for the moment. Enough booze would do that to even Shin. He had remembered before taking out his stuff and turned only to see Roxas right in his face. Shin yelps, and then gives Roxas a gentle 'what the hell?' look. He laughs in relief then, and leans in to Roxas.] Tons. What, did you come in here to have some too? There are bedrooms.

[When Shin turns around even Roxas didn't expect him to get so close. Maybe he's losing track of depth perception here.] Huh? Oh, no, not so much, I'm good on that.

[Lord knows in the past Shin has been able to convince him otherwise, but he's really going to try to stand his ground here. He doesn't want to not remember what happens, or, more importantly, be suddenly driven to do something really stupid.]

Yeah, I know there are bedrooms, it's a cruise. [Silly.] What's going on? [Other than the obvious..]

[Shin is a pretty damn good actor. He looks confused and surprised, and convincingly so.] Trying to go to the bathroom. I'm a bit drunk.

[As much as Roxas wants to help his friend here, there are some lines that shall not be crossed without some serious inebriation, borderline poisoning, beforehand. He isn't that far in his own drunkenness yet.]

I would love to help you there but I think this is the kind of situation that coined the term personal problem. If you're just a bit drunk you can still handle this.. [Right?] ..right?

Yes. You're the one who walked in on me. Did you want to watch or something? [Roxas. He's hinting you need to get out. Saying he's drunk is to excuse how often he's going to the bathroom.]

[Something about this isn't right.] You have a pretty weak bladder for a drunk dude, you know?

[Fine. He'll do the deed and step out for a moment. But once the door closes behind him he's all up on that, trying to listen for anything unusual.

This is so weird. Anybody walking by should be concerned.]

[Shin does go to the bathroom now, but only after locking the door. He finishes, flushes, and turns on the water. How many times is he washing his hands in there? The water keeps running for a few minutes, but then he comes out, waving his hands to finish drying them.] So, make any friends?

[It seems Shin had. He's gone into a private room twice already.]

[Everything seems normal from the outside. He thinks. Once there is a sound of running water he backs away from the door, waiting for his friend to come out.] Friends? Nah, not so much.

[There have been a few friendly conversations here and there but that's it.] Actually, I was able to get on just by mentioning you, so really I don't know anyone else on here personally.

[Should he branch out? Yes. Is he going to? Depends on how many more drinks he has to reach that less inhibited version of himself that's more willing to socialize.]

[Shin laughs and puts an arm around Roxas,] Come on, even drummers can be popular. You just need to get out there.

Sleeping with a few fans helps. [They haven't gotten to talk about that tabloid yet. He played it cool on social media, but the whole magazine was ripped apart in the living room of their suite.]

[What's that about a ripped apart magazine in the living room? Roxas wouldn't notice, he never pays attention to anyone else's mess, much less his own.] I don't know, I'd rather not.. that just seems like it would invite more problems in.

[Don't need any more of those hanging around.] It could be fun.. [There's that doubt-] But it seems like a bad idea.

[Shin wouldn't have cleaned it up either, so it probably fell to one of their poor abused band mates.

He sling his arm around Roxas,] You really think getting laid would be a bad idea? Maybe we can even score you a threesome.

[Those poor, unfortunate souls.]

[Oh hey, that idea earns an eyebrow raise from Roxas.. but nothing else.] That's.. come on, really? Do we need that kind of attention?

[By that he means yeah, he saw that tabloid and hell no, he would rather not have any more attention in that area if they can help it. Unfortunately, that includes threesomes, only because it would mean that maybe the third party runs off after and spills what happened to a source willing to publish no more than hours after getting the story.]

I already slept with Dino and some chick.

[Shin's lost fucks.]

[Intrigued.] ...just now, here?

Yes.

[Duh.]

[Considering he had been watching for some time, but not all of the time,] When? ...w-where?

About two hours ago. We were gone for about an hour.

[That was a bit before he got on the boat and found Shin.]

That's... cool. [What the hell else does one say to that?]

I still think I'm good for now. [After more drinking that'll probably change, but whatever. That's a problem future Roxas will have to worry about.] What else they got on this boat for fun? I don't mind just getting blitzed.

"You've seen the pool and hot tub, I hope?" He starts heading towards the bar, "there's some fire pits, but this is a party, not an amusement park." He's just teasing Roxas, since he's sure his friend can tell the difference.

[Has he seen the pool of hot tub? Please. But that comment earns a laugh from Roxas, as he isn't sure the kind of entertainment being offered here is what he's looking for. But then again, this sort of thing is difficult to measure when he doesn't even know what he's looking for to start.]

Well, if it was, what would you prefer it have? [He'll be following Shin here, no attention paid to mind as to where they're going. Bar? Great. Pool? Great. Dance floor? Why not.]

If it were an Amusement park?

[Shin considers, only to realize he has nothing to pull from. He's going to need that drink asap. Fortunately the boat is only so big and he can order himself a shot of rum before he adds,] I've never been to one.

[Really?] They're kind of fun. Lot of shit to do. All of it is legitimate though, [Meaning no drugs or sex,] But an experience worth having.

[If Shin was serious about not being to one before, Roxas will make it a priority to bring him to one. Any one. As long as he can have that experience. This kind of thing is fundamental to one's growth.]

If you haven't done it, lets go to one. It'll be a ton of fun. We can even sneak in some goodies to make it better.

I really haven't been able to do anything interesting until this past year. [He laughs it off, but there's no humour there. It's dark and sounds like he doesn't think that these new things are going to last long.]

[Maybe for the both of them, none of this will.] Really? So, you would consider the night we had 'interesting?'

[As much as he hates to bring it up for what it is, because to him it was another drunken misadventure, for the sake of comedic value why not.]
