006 ┼ I'm Finding Me Out, I'm Having My Doubts, I'm Losing the Best of Me
Who: Luci & YOU
What: You know what sucks? Everything about the last festival-- especially all the chaos and running. You know what's probably a good idea? Ignoring all of that and having a party. On a yacht.
When: May 20th
Where: The bay outside Vista City
Warnings:IT'S A CARNIVAL CRUISE...!
((Luci just got a strange pay bump and she's using it to regroup after the intense clusterfuck at the last festival-- she's still not sure exactly what happened there, but even though it's probably significant, she'd rather celebrate like one usually does after a lot of work. By renting a yacht for a night. Like people usually do.))

((It's a nice boat. Plenty of food, a couple of bartenders, fire pits, couches, swimsuits for those who need, and music of course. The party is, of course, invite only to keep the paparazzi and gatecrashers and people looking to turn this into a work-venture out, but Luci's given the bouncer clearance to let friends of guests and anybody who seems interesting in-- she knows Luci's type.))
((Try not to get too blitzed and fall overboard!))

[Right now, Luci's searching her face for some crack, some sign she's being had, something to explain what she felt down there. The longer she looks, the stranger she feels. The more she feels like she'd do anything just to get her attention.]
You a Pride fan? I can introduce you to literally anybody you want to meet.
[That comes out, but in reality she just wants them to be alone for a while. To talk, so Luci can hear her speak.]
...that's why you crashed the party, right? I would have remembered inviting someone who was either A) you; or B) friends with you.

[ She's searching Luci in return for some sign of recognition. Some sign that the woman who tore up London in her fury is sitting inside the rock star. That song wasn't Luci, wasn't who Persephone needed her to be. ]
And now I'm all alone with her, so I guess the night can only get better from here.
I'm a Lucifer fangirl, everyone else are extras.
no subject
And I'm all alone with another sparkling voice. [Luci smirks faintly and backs off so she can lean against the railing next to the other woman.] You're almost as good as I am. You get that way riding around in cars and singing in showers, or is somebody coaching you?
no subject
[ If she'd opened up fully, let Luci's little fans get a taste of the real Persephone they'd all still be on the deck recovering. There's no overconfidence in her voice, just simple fact. ]
As for that, it isn't something that comes with practice. I was... discovered. By an old woman, sneaky bitch named Ananke. Gave me everything I ever wanted.
[ And then tried to take her head off. Seemed like a hobby of hers. ]

[Some things even brainwashing can't erase. She hears the words that come after that name-- Ananke-- but they don't really register because she's patting her jacket for a cigarette. Fuck where the fuck are they-- Right breast pocket, where she always keeps them, now lighter, lighter where the fuck is her lighter--]
She skim off the top or-- you mind if I smoke? [There's the lighter-- left pants pocket, cheap, plastic, apparently rarely used despite her pack of cigarettes being nearly empty. Luci struggles to get the lighter to work before her conversation companion can say whether she minds or not. She really needs this goddamn cigarette, right the fuck now.]
no subject
[ After all, the only reason Persephone smokes is because of the legacy that Luci left her. It's easy enough to pluck the lighter out of Luci's fingers and light it for her. She's pushing it, trying to find a crack she put down her roots to make sure Luci remembers her. Remembers the world she belongs in. The trick is making sure Persephone doesn't break anything in the process. ]
As for the management... She took away someone important to me, fed everyone a crock of shit about how she loved them.
[ Hopefully Luci doesn't mind the same nimble fingers that took her lighter liberating one of her cigarettes and leaning in to light it off hers. ]
But I'm sure we can find more interesting things to talk about, though.

Sounds rough. [But yes, they can find more interesting things to talk about.] Love triangles are the worst. Who-loves-who, two-player insanity. But now I'm here for you... [Luci helps herself to a little of the woman's personal space. Like she wasn't flirting, lighting her own cigarette like that.] If there's one thing I advocate for tonight, it's leaving everything that's weighing on you on the shore. You can pick it up on your way out.
no subject
I've got you, huh? Should I believe something like coming from a devil? [ A promise of damnation reneged on. It led her to places she never would have gone otherwise but there's still that little part of her that wants to give Luci a hard time over it. ]
Plus you don't even know who I am. I could be some crazy fangirl.
no subject
[She, of course, has no memory of this deal she made, or how she shafted Laura when things came to a head. To her, she's just reeling in a particularly lovely fish. Luci likes it when people call her a devil-- probably because it makes her feel a little more legit than she actually is.]
I think I can handle myself if you try to cut a lock of hair for eBay.
no subject
[ At least this time she wasn't asking for cocaine. Persephone takes a drag on her own cigarette, exhaling the smoke up into the air. It was a bad habit but it was one the only thing Luci had really left her. ]
You still haven't asked who I am, though.
[ The fake ID in her pocket says Penelope. The phone with the cracked screen is registered to Laura. Neither one is her. ]
no subject
Your Good Book tell you that? Beware The Adversary, he'll say anything to corrupt a pure soul? [She tilts her head.] People lie. At least I'm decent enough not to pretend I'm justified in doing it, which is more than some people can say. It's just worse when I do it because of the name. It says to them 'I have you all figured out'. When they know jack shit.
[The subject is a sensitive one, clearly. Luci doesn't appreciate being pushed into a box with her name on it, she's more than that. Way more.]
Well I was happy with you being The Mysterious and Talented Stranger, but have it your way. [She reaches down and picks up her hand, bringing it to her lips.] What can I call you?
no subject
I'm Persephone. [ The little thrill at her name never goes away. This is her, everything she wanted. She'll never get tired of saying it. ]
Plus, knowing my name means you'll be able to think about me later when the party's over.
no subject
[There's something about it she likes though-- something satisfying? Or maybe it's just the mythology that has her smiling a little. Maybe she could bring a little spring to Luci's life, even if it's just a few cigarettes and some flirtation. There's an electricity between them that has Luci feeling invigorated, and right when everything around her has felt so flat.]
Persephone... I'll be thinking about you long after this party is over, I can promise you that. [She leans a little closer, asking permission silently.] You can call me Luci.
no subject
Good, I want you to remember me... [ More than anything she wants Luci to remember something. Everything. But she'll settle for planting the seeds and reaping the harvest later. Winter is a long way away and she knows she can bring her back if she can do this right.
But right now, in this moment, her wants are simpler. She's close enough to that it barely takes anything to kiss Luci. ]
no subject
[In this moment, Luci's wants are simpler too. But it feels so complex when they kiss-- like she's waited centuries for it. Who is she? Why does she make Luci feel so much?]
[She turns to pin Persephone to the boat railing, her hand going into the seemingly endless blue waves. Luci's intending to leave this girl dizzy, if nothing else, and she's pulling out her best moves. Gentle movement of her lips, but force and passion behind it.]
no subject
She gives as good as she gets from the kiss. One hand resting on the small of Luci's back to pull their bodies closer even as she parts her lips to invite her in.
In this moment she feels wonderfully, beautifully alive. The ash isn't built up inside her now that she has this. ]
no subject
[She wants more of it, and she wants to know why, but for now she'll settle for holding and pleasing the beautiful person who seems to have just dropped out of the sky. Luci draws back to breathe and drags her lips and teeth gently over Persephone's cheek and neck. The longer she breathes in this woman, the stronger she feels. The more color comes back into a flat and gray world.]
I've been singing for you for months. [It could sound creepy, yes, but it's a rare moment of candor for her. She has been singing for this person who makes her feel bigger than she is.] Would you believe me if I said I've been waiting for you?
no subject
Luci knew her when she was just Laura Wilson, just like Cassandra. She needs that knowing. Which means she needs to bring Luci's memories back.
Persephone is breathless as she replies: ] Only if you believe me when I say I came here just for you. [ The rest of the world can rot as long as she brings Luci home. ]
