The second the lockdown is lifted, Luci springs into action. She's mass texting everyone involved:

It's time. Tomorrow night, we ride at 7PM for an 8PM start. Get your best shit dry cleaned.

There's already an exodus happening out of Pride HQ given they weren't the only ones on lockdown either, so slipping out is easy enough. They converge on the location, Luci makes good on her suggestion and hands the techbooth a wad of money to stop playing recorded dance mixes and let them take over the stage. She can already see one guy frantically texting into his lap as she explains what's about to happen. Perfect.

"You should tell your manager to call in more bouncers and remove some of the tables, this place is about to be packed."

When first discussing the idea, Luci had suggested they all pack up and get the hell out after the set-- but that idea has proven too tame for her now that performing has amped her up. She actually enters the crowd, heading for the bar, signing things when they're handed to her, leaving nude lipstick on one CD case when it was held out with no sharpie attached. Yes, yes, this was what she lived for. This was the point.

She gets a drink and holds court at the bar, talking with fans but only barely teasing where 'Bumpercar Bondage' came from. A new single? A new Junkyard Carnival album? She just grins and says they'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Fortunately, the Carnies fanbase isn't the squealing/clingy type, they like to get their fix standing close, then spin off onto the dance floor to bask in the feeling. She's occupied, but makes herself available to people approaching her.

"Well, I think we've found the rockstar royalty for the rest of the year."

It's when the crowd has eased up a bit that Luce speaks up. She'd really just wanted to get a drink, but, well, who can resist talking to one of the stars of the evening?

Besides, they may have communicated mostly by gesturing during the Gala a few months back, but Luce had liked just that bit of interaction.

Luci recognizes the woman she'd played Pretend Sign Language with at the gala-- that'd been enjoyable for her, too, but she's doubly glad to see someone from Virgo at their little soiree.

"I hope you're not talking about me," Luci laughs, though there is a little bit of preening happening. "I'd look like a right asshole if I took all the credit tonight."

"Then you'll be glad to know I was speaking generally. You're more than free to pick a royal title that you thinks suits you, of course." She laughs a little into her hand. "Just keep the 'king' title away from Xanxus, he doesn't need the ego boost."

~~Also he's going to get into a fight with a teenage girl and a bass guitar at some point in the night, so there's that.~~

"It must have been quite a chore to get everyone on board with something like this."

"Oh I think if I suggested we call Xanxus the king, Alec would throw a little snitfit," Luci smirks and rolls her eyes. Their lead guitar is more than just a handful, he could be downright bitchy when he wanted to be. But he was talented, Luci gave him that.

"Actually, we only had a couple people who wanted to just forget about what Predator did to us. Everybody else was just as pissed. It helps, honestly-- having a common enemy."

"Nothing really unites people better than anger." She makes a soft huff of laughter. "That's how revolutions happen, and all." Maybe if they were all angry over in Virgo, it'd be easy to unite and find some answers... If that weird night in the basement was their own brand of 'hazing' meant to weird them out.

Well, no point in worrying about it right now.

"Think the message will get through to them?"

Luci pauses to think for a moment, then shrugs. "Probably not. They probably don't give a fuck-- but we all gained fans tonight and we pulled off an unprecedented joint venture without eating each other. That alone is worth celebrating."

"For now, fantastic personal success is the best you can do." Finally getting her own drink, Luce takes it and raises it up slightly. "Cheers to not getting stuck in bondage hell, then?"

“I'll drink to that anytime,” Luci laughs and gently clinks her glass against Luce's. “May you never end up in a bumpercar with no safeword.”

"If it ever comes to things, then I think it's only fair that I tell you mine is 'squirrel'." She's grinning even as she takes a drink, shoulders shaking quietly. If she bullshitted that on the spot or is honest is hard to tell right then.

Terry's in a similar place - not quite as flamboyant as Luci, but feeding off the energy from the fans, dancing around their questions and signing things. Enthusiastic discussions with the few who can keep him talking for more than a few minutes.

He slips away after a little while and gets himself a drink at the bar, a hint of a smile on his face when he sees Luci, and he leans against the bar next to her as he orders his drink. "Nice work," he says congratulatorially* once he's made his order. Both on the song and the event.

Luci's smile is a little manic, a little out of control-- but given the conversations she's had with Terry at various bars, they serve to sober her a little. She smiles still, waits for his drink to show up, and knocks her glass against his gently.

"You too. To shaking off insanity."

"Can't believe how much I missed this." He smiles as he lifts his drink in a small toasting gesture, feeling a little ridiculous, but he knows Luci'll get it. "It's only been a week."

"Time stretches on when there's nothing to do but eat, sleep, and drink, darling," Luci smiles back. She gets it. God does she get it-- the buzzing in her head has finally stopped, she's let it out. "Let's hope they never pull this shit again, right?"

Terry laughs, he just. He feels so much better after this, after getting out all that rage and pent-up energy and... Everything else he couldn't express cooped up in the building. "I might actually explode if they lock us up again."

"Yeah, if they do that again, party at the Carnie suite, we'll get Xanxus to break the window again and rappel down the side of the building. I'm not living through that again, that was fucked up."

"Rappel down the building?" God, there's a mental image. "I'm in, but someone's gonna have to catch me when I inevitably fall."

"Alright so you're last, we'll erect a giant trampoline under you. Deal?"

How's that for a mental image.

Well it makes him choke on his drink, so that's something.

"Works for me."

Win.

"So it is decided, so it shall be," she says with a laugh and a raise of her glass.

"So say we all," he says like the massive nerd he is, raising his own glass to clink Luci's.
