What: A band gets two new members. Things are awkward.

[Bands often live or die on the chemistry of their members. Switching out two established members for a couple of newbies is a radical move, and it makes sense for people on both sides of this equation to be more than a little nervous. Except the mananger. Mr. Yama Darzi doesn't seem concerned at all as he leads Tsuna and Nia into the posh suite to meet their new band. Either he's confident in their skills or just their marketability. Same difference.

Introductions are brief and amount to little more than...]


The lovely young lady is your new lead guitarist, Nia. And Tsuna is the new drummer. Everyone try to get along, I'm expecting big things out of all of you.


[By 'big things' he means money. And clearly everyone has questions for him. Possibly about why two of thier members were suddenly replaced. Or what happened to them. Or any number of other things. But tragically, Mr. Darzi is suddenly pulled away by a phone call. Sorry, guys, he just has to take this. Very important call. That's okay, right?

No? Well, too bad. He's a very busy man. The manager heads out, leaving an awkward silence in his wake. After a moment, Tsuna breaks the silence with a question about their manager.]


Is he.... always like that?

[She's just trying to get on his good side, honestly. Trying to make allies, for now.]

Of course. We've worked hard to get to this point, haven't we?

[Well, she's already made an ally in Tsuna.]

Yeah. We know that hiring us was the right decision, our manager knows too, now we just have to convince the rest of the band.

[And he's sure they'll be reasonable. Right?]

Speaking of, are you... nervous about meeting them? I am, a little...

[Playing music he can do, social things, not so much.]

[She's sure they'll be reasonable! If not, she'll make them.]

A little bit. But I'm sure they'll like us. Their music tends to be very upbeat, so they should be upbeat people, too, right?

[dame_tsuna]

Hey, that's a good point. At least they didn't want to put us in some angry metal band.

[A band like that would eat them alive. Or possibly just Tsuna. Nia might be able to handle herself.]

I would have never agreed to being in a metal band. I don't think I'd quite fit the image, either...

[Her hair is huge and poofy and the girl looks like she's made of cotton candy, c'mon.]

[dame_tsuna]

[He laughs.]

Me either. In the first place, they wear way too much leather.

[He is self aware enough to know that he could never pull off that look. By this point, the car is rounding a bend and Virgo HQ comes into view. Tsuna can't help but gape just a little.]

Wow.... it's huge!

[Pictures in magazines never did justice to the scale of the place.]

I don't think you'd necessarily look bad--

[But then Virgo. Even Nia, who pretty much understood how this went seems in awe. Her eyes might be sparkling a little. She might lean a little closer to the window to see it.]

It is, isn't it?

[Tsuna just nods, staring up at the huge, pristine building for a moment. Then he sighs, just a little.]

I wonder how many times I'll get lost before I learn my way around...

Are you always very pessimistic?

[dame_tsuna]

Umm.... I guess so.

[He's not sure if he should apologize.]

Why?

[loveconservative]

You have been hired by a major record label to join an already successful band and you are worried about getting lost.

We should be celebrating.

[dame_tsuna]

Yeah, I know. But I'm not really used to things going this smoothly...

[There is some part of Tsuna that will ALWAYS be waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop.]

I am! So things will have to go well for us.

[dame_tsuna]

[At first he blinks in surprise, then he smiles.]

Are you always this optimistic?

[loveconservative]

I am not optimistic. I'm determined!

[dame_tsuna]

I guess that works too.

[The car pulls up in front of the building, and stops to let them out. Tsuna takes a deep breath and steps out of the car. He glances back at Nia.]
