“I will burn for you; Feel pain for you. I will twist the knife and bleed my aching heart, And tear it apart.” ☆I WILL TWIST THE KNIFE ![]() The first two hours of the solstice party are surprisingly normal. Members of both labels arrive by private sky shuttle, and are invited into the ballroom for food and drink. It’s even more surprising when both Lesedi Santiago and Edward Blanche arrive as well, and spent most of that first period speaking quietly in a nearby lounge area. Lesedi’s body guards and Juno watch the space around them, keeping anyone of lesser important from interrupting what looks to be quite the serious discussion. After food, the ballroom stage is taken over by a number of increasingly impressive entertainment pieces. It seems to be obligatory for everyone to stay and watch (not that it’s a struggle – the talent involved is unmistakeable), but not long into it Lesedi and Edward can be seen disappearing outside together, and show no immediate signs of returning. And that’s when Naomi Rivers takes the stage. To the Virgo that have heard it before, the song is more viscerally familiar than anything you’ve only heard once should be, and it awakens the ideas that were implanted there the night before. You have a job to do here, tonight. One that is only fair – almost righteous. Lesedi Santiago and her ilk will suffer for her transgressions. The performances end, and everyone is released out to the rest of the grounds, to mingle and celebrate at their leisure. While things may seem civil on the surface, beneath that something dark is brewing. You gradually begin to notice that almost none of the more veteran members of either label are present. ► BALLROOM: The central nexus of the party, the ballroom is the location of the buffet table, the stage, and the dance floor. There will be music available all night, even after the official “performances” have ended. There are tables set up around the edges of the room for eating and relaxing. ► LOUNGE: Where Lesedi and Edward were having their meeting earlier, the lounge is filled with comfortable chairs, classic art, and a large, ornate fireplace. If you figure out who to ask, there are a number of chemical vices available to all guests. ► BALCONIES: There is a generous series of balconies that line the exterior of the upper floor. The ocean can be seen from one side and the gardens can be seen from the other. ► GUEST ROOMS: Down the halls from the ballroom there are a few generous guest bedrooms that have been left open for use. ► GARDENS: Out towards the back there are a wide variety of plants, and a well kept stone path and manmade waterfall. The plant life is on the sedate side due to the winter, but it’s still green. ► OUTDOOR POOL: There’s a pool out front with a shallow and a deep end. The water is clear and artificially warmed. ☆OOC CONSIDERATIONS Please remember that any attempted assassinations are meant to remain covert, and if your character is incapable of being stealthy then you must assume that any attempts you make are happening towards the end of the evening – let’s say around 11PM. The spell compelling people to do this does not want a riot or a bloodbath – what it wants is for people to die before the rest of the group can realize that anything is even going on. Of course, this isn’t exactly going to work out, but if you are finding yourself getting into the realm of intense physical violence you might want to stop and slow down a little.Virgo members that didn’t hear the song the night before are free from any compulsions, and so are all members of Pride. If non-mind controlled characters start clueing in to what’s going on and start trying to evacuate in large numbers, that is where you’ll want to wrap up threads and wait for Part 2 of the log, which will contain the end results and will be triggered by any large amount of chaos. If any characters attempt to escape earlier in the evening, they’ll find that the shuttles have all been grounded, and wandering in the woodland nearby just seems to result in them getting lost and ending up back at the mansion. It’s a real pickle. If you’ve got any question about what’s going on please leave them on the original plot post and they’ll get answered! The opt out event will be posted ASAP. “I will lie for you; Beg and steal for you. I will crawl on hands and knees until you see: You're just like me.” |
▲Bill Cipher▲ | Virgo | Vandalism in Progress | OTA
[The mind of an brainwashed omnipresent deity is a curious one. Lost in the confusion of having physical form- and not merely possessing one for a change- is making it difficult for Bill to sort his own thoughts from the commanding ones in the song. Bill Cipher has never had to do things he didn't want to do. Therefore, he is only a couple of seconds into the song before when decides this must be his choice. He isn't so foolhardy as to be deceived. So he isn't. Simple as that! The former demon doesn't just accept the foreign thought, he wraps himself up in it, slipping it on like something a little more comfortable.
He stands on the floor like many of the other volunteers, serving 'drinks' and talking up the crowd. A festive red tie in place of his usual bow-tie for the occasion. After all, this was the season of surprises. And he has plenty in store.]
[Lounge]
[Bill is thankful the lounge is empty, it gives him the chance to peel off some of the clothing that had gotten a bit ah- well shall we say tarnished- from the multitude of victims and creative methods he employed in doing them in. Wrapping his soaked vest and tie on a poker he roasts it over the fire. How else was he supposed to wash the blood out?
His ears prick at the sound of someone nearby. Another Pride member? Brandishing the poker he stalks closer looking to see who may have walked in...]
[Post Brainwashing]-
[Pain is... considerably less hilarious than Bill has spent past 4 hours believing. The words and obnoxious tune of the song are leaving his head at last, leaving his mind stripped bare to not just an influx of his thoughts but every bodily impulse he had been steadfastly ignoring the better half of the night. Bruises were forming, welt's were throbbing. This stupid vessel's-- vessel?-- the hell did that come from?-- synapses were all out of whack.
While the sax player is 80% certain Bolin doesn't want him walking around on his own at this point, he knows with 100% clarity that he doesn't fucking care. The idea that someone just manipulated him is something he can barely parse, and sitting still just isn't worth it. In just his undershirt and a pair of trousers, Bill barges into the nearest bedroom-occupied or not, and throws open every closet door. No one uses Bill Cipher. If that's the case, he would undo as much of the night's work as he could.]
[Wild] Go nuts!
Post
Bill--? What... criminy, man, are you okay--
[ Wait, that's a stupid question. ]
Are you hurt?
no subject
"Oh yeah, Universe, I'm FINE. JUST DANDY!!!"
[...He doesn't sound all that dandy.
After shoving aside everything in the closet he moves to a big ornate dresser next, forcefully yanking out a drawer, uncaring as it's contents go flying.]

[ Okay, yeah, that was pretty stupid to ask, too. Things are pretty twisted right now, Greg doesn't mind being an outlet too much.
He does, however, wish this was happening somewhere else. It's hard to tell at this point if this is a result of whatever's messing with people, or the aftereffects. Instinctively, he puts himself in front of the bathroom door. ]
What're you looking for, Bill.
no subject
"Bodies."
[He finally spits, as though it is obvious, before resuming his
pillagingsearch. The trunk he moves to rip open next is disturbingly small given the new implications.]no subject
Oh. Man.
[ His voice just went a wee bit squeaky, don't mind him. ]
Bill, you--how bad's it gotten out there?
Oh god i didn't even think about Tiger being there |D Bill is so screwed
[Bill doesn't even bother looking up, muttering tersely. ]
“...Gonna need more numbers.”
[It's no good. This mansion is so big. Throwing open doors may be alleviating some of his rage but it isn't doing much for the end goal. His brow twitches as he rises back to his feet, frowning at Greg.]
“But why ask me? Shouldn't you know?”
[He had been sure, so sure, all of Virgo were in on this but first Celty and now Greg...]
Well unless we want to call Quix in we can leave him out of it =D;;
[ Sans' term for it. He still can't believe he found out about this through blundering his way into being a victim himself. ]
I've been laying low in here for a bit. Didn't want to risk... I dunno, a delayed reaction, or... whatever.
[ Or leaving certain rooms unattended, but, like, whatever, you know. ]
hehe nah I'm good with however you want to play it. I'll roll with whatever happens
"A delayed reaction."
[He shudders out a humorless laugh.]
"You saying we're sick?"
SHRUGS
We're something, all right.
[ Then again, with all that's been going on, Greg can't blame him, wholly. ]
Take a minute to get your head on, man. We've been messed with enough already.
no subject
[‘They’ being… someone? Something? Ugh. It’s not even the weirdest conspiracy theory he has ever raved about, but for reason he just can’t seem to argue effectively right now.]
“It's all part of--! It- JUST-!! NGH.”
[Bill bites his lip and hangs his head. He’s AWESOME at convincing people to follow his lead, the fact he can’t do it right now is probably reason enough alone to take Greg’s advice. So the former demon deflates with a sigh, and drops to sit down from where he stood in an unhappy ball of sulk.
Well. It’s some form of compliance at least?]
no subject
[ He says it quietly, hardly wanting to hear it himself. He's not sure what it is that they could possibly expect at the end of the night, but wasting time feels like the far better option. ]
I'll get you some water.
no subject
"Been there, done that."
[Bill rasps back, but he doesn't move. He needs- he needs.. he doesn't know what he needs, but having Greg answer to him at the moment would at least giving him the illusion of having some control. He'll let the man do as he declared, he can be patient.]
"...So let's not give them what they want."
no subject
[ It only takes a moment for Greg to slip into the bathroom and get a glass of water, but he uses those brief seconds to catch his breath. The air seems to get heavier with Bill around, and Greg's not sure what to do with him. Anger may be reasonable for being manipulated like this, but it's not something Greg knows how to deal with well.
Back out again, water in hand, and offers it to Bill. ]
Huh. I kind of expected you to run off.
no subject
[He takes the offered beverage and downs half of it in one gulp. If Greg were to secretly be trying to poison him- which after the rest of these nights events is more likely than it sounds- he would undoubtedly of have succeeded.]
“You often expect people to just turn tail and leave halfway into a conversation?"
[Never mind that he can't think of anywhere else to go...]
no subject
plot twist greg's a double agent]Wouldn't be the first time.
[ There's the sound of a joke in there, but it doesn't make its way to his face. ]
You didn't strike me as too interested, is all.

"Heya Celt."
[It figures the one time he would need to read to someone's expressions, his helmet wearing pianist would be the one he ran into. His words come out slowly, testing each one.]
"Out for a stroll?"
no subject
"Not now." [Probably the first time Bill's heard her voice. Light, but scratchy. Not helped by being more of a sharp hiss right now.]
no subject
"WHOA- So you DO have a voice under there."
[For once he keeps his big mouth shut, too intrigued to hear what else she might say than to argue.]
no subject
[She's still looking down the hallway, for any kind of sign of actual help.]
"Seen any. Medical equipment?"
no subject
"Medical Equipment? Not exactly your standard party fare! Though now that you mention it- I'd kinda like to see THAT one turns out!"
[He frowns slightly.]
"What for?"
no subject
[She shouldn't be exerting her throat this much but she seriously gives so little shit right now. Yet she can't help but reflexively rub it a little.]
no subject
“Eh! Kids are a lot more resilient than people give em credit for these days. I'm sure they'll walk it off--”
no subject
Because she's pretty sure stab wounds aren't usually walked off.
