What: Genos and Squalo throw a Solstice dinner party. Italian food for everyone!

[ Fuck the creepy shit, MANTICORE are aggressively throwing a Solstice party! Because why not, and who has the patience to wait until New Years? ]

[ There are locations/prompts in toplevels, but feel free to start your own as well. Generic timeline of the night would be: cooking, dinner, socializing with games and booze and possibly other things, and  a movie marathon into the wee hours of the morning for the ones interested.  ]

MOVIE NIGHT

[ Tired of socializing? Fear not, there's a very special movie night going on in one of the corners with the biggest TV and the comfiest couches and beanbags. ]

[ The selection of the movies include (assume that it's a Tera-equivalent of these, so that anyone from those canons wouldn't suffer from fourth wall): JAWS, Pacific Rim, The Iron Giant, a few latest superhero blockbusters, a shark documentary, MEGAS XLR and whatever you decided to bring over or rent from the virtual selection. The very last movies of the night, however, will be Disney. Hey, by now you'll be drunk/high enough to appreciate it, right? ]

Superbia Squalo

[ It's fucking 4 AM, and Squalo's out of it. There's no telling what kind of crazy shit he might've been up to for most of the night, but right now he's calmed down and sunken into the backrest of the sofa, holding a popcorn bowl with one hand and continuously putting it one grain at a time into his mouth with the other, eyes locked on the TV and a lone tear slowly rolling down his cheek. ]

[ What's on? Well, Finding Nemo obviously. ]

[Fetch reaches blindly into the bowl - if he tells her to fuck off and get her own popcorn she's going to ignore him. Which is telling for this movie because normally she'd just toss the bowl in his face. Sharing is caring, damnit.

She's sitting on the floor in front of him, having blearily settled in when some stupid movie was playing. All she remembered from it was that there was a maze and snow and a guy froze to death with a stupid face.]

GOOD

[ He probably would under normal circumstances, but nah. Too drunk and high and that fish loves his son so fucking much. ]

[ He does at some point reach forward to pat her head, though, as if she's the one who needs to be consoled. ]

[Fetch is munching distractedly on a mouthful of popcorn when she feels the hand on her head. She freezes for a few seconds, like she isn't sure what to do about it.]

Genos

[It's not even that late yet. Maybe just after 12 AM and Genos is starting to tear up. His attention is completely captivated by events unfolding on screen. He's completely still as he watches The Iron Giant.

This robot just cares so much and Genos is going to be weeping by the end of it.]

[Dude he thought you were supposed to be a badass]

[Artolo is pretty damn awkward here, because he never does well with people crying. And for some reason, it just seems like the sensible thing to do to start piling pillows and blankets and shit onto Genos.]

[JUST. LEAVE HIM ALONE.

HE CAN'T STOP CRYING OVER THIS ROBOT SACRIFICING HIMSELF.

And now he's getting buried in blankets? Is this supposed to help?]

Tiger Universe

[Tiger comes over to the movies to crash as soon as he starts feeling bad. He's glad he missed JAWS anyway...he doesn't like scary movies, even if he'd like to pretend he can hack them. He doesn't like seeing people get hurt, even when it's fake.

Pacific Rim is more his speed, though, and despite a growing feeling of nausea and a tummy ache, he managers to get through the movie while feeling pretty okay. He laughs at anything that's funny with genuine excitement, even if he's feeling kind of ill by the end. He falls asleep during the Iron Giant a few times, but it's okay, because he's seen it before.

He knows what's happening enough that the end still makes him get weepy.

He sleeps for a while and wakes up enough to start asking somewhat delirious questions about sharks, and to get verbally distressed about them hunting other animals.]

[Tiger may not know it but that lady that spoke very... sharp at Squalo might be sitting with Tiger when he wakes up and tries to answer his questions about sharks.]

Slow down, slow down...

[The knowledge that someone is actually attempting to answer him makes him slow down a little. He looks up at her sleepily.]

They don't actually like eating humans do they?

Only if they encroach in the shark's territory. Normally they wouldn't care for a human.

Did you watch Jaws?

[Genos has been keeping an eye on him the whole time. And sighing deeply when Squalo forced him into a corner of drinking alcohol.

So he throws a blanket over the kid after the Iron Giant, if there are tears on his face just don't mention it.

Hell if he knows that much about sharks though.]

[Tiger is mostly not cognizant when Genos comes by to give him a blanket - and for some reason, it doesn't seem as weird and embarrassing as it might have before. It just seems nice, like a good thing to do, and Tiger, for once, appreciates the gesture without question.

He even starts babbling at Genos conversationally as his eyes crack open a little at the end of Iron Giant.]

Did you see the movie? I love that movie it's so good, the Giant is such a good robot...he's a hero...

[wounds]

[He settles in next to Tiger and wipes away his own tears under the sunglasses he's refused to stop wearing.]

I did. It's one of my favorites. I love robots so much, and he cares about people so much and-

["I want to be a robot" seems completely inappropriate here.]

It's definitely my favorite movie.

[Hey, kid.

Garnet notices him sleeping at ~430 am, and - without even thinking about it - goes and grabs a blanket, covering him gently. The fact she does it doesn't even occur to her, as it being something she's done before. The kid's just asleep, that's all.]

Hm.

[Hopefully its a heavy enough blanket to keep him warm.]

[The subtle shift is enough to wake him up, because while he'd been sleeping deeper earlier, a feeling of general illness has lightened his sleep. It only takes a little push for him to start noticing the nausea in his stomach and the wooziness in his head.

He shifts and mumbles, his face contorted with discomfort. He feels really bad, and he is't awake enough yet to remember why.

He wraps his arms around his belly, cracking open his eyes just a little.]

...Hm.

[Something's not right. Tiger just looks...pained? Did it have to do with...with...

...

Garnet's eyes narrow a bit, but even so, she doesn't look angry, more concerned. She goes to bring a hand to his forehead.

She'd had some visions about this kid, too, after all. Some of them ok, some of them weird. Some of them having her do this exact thing at this exact moment, even.]

Lucifer

[It's been a strangely quiet party for the one who'd climbed up the side of a wall and nearly set a chair on fire at Naomi's shindig. Movies in a pile of Pride musicians sounds like just her speed. She puts a blanket over her shoulders, has a glass of wine and a little plate of some leftover potatoes, and watches from a nice spot on the floor with her back against the couch. For the most part, she's watching everyone else enjoy themselves or squabble-- or both.]

[It's a nice night.]

Koumei Ren

[Who would have thought that, of all the possibilities, it was the stream of classic Disney Princess movies that would finally lul Koumei into the depth of a much needed sleep. Sprawled out on one of the sofas with his bun askew and long auburn locks tangled up in the delicate little tiara, Koumei was fast asleep.

He may or may not be using you as a pillow. He doesn't care.]

[ The only Princess movie Squalo had picked is probably The Little Mermaid, but hey, someone else might've put others on. Either way, it's animated fish time now. ]

[ Squalo's too mesmerized to even notice he's being used as a pillow, to be honest. Hopefully the gross sobs that escape whenever the Shark Mafia loses or little Nemo calls out "DAD" won't interfere with his sleep too much. ]

[No, they're not going to bother him. He's just going to unconsciously wrap his arms around the lazy cellist, as if to offer comfort.

The dreams were actually peaceful for once. He just didn't like those he cared about being upset, whether he was awake or not.]

[ He'd be offended at a less ungodly hour and with less booze and coke in his system, probably. Right now? It actually does feel comforting. He might even lean a bit into the hold, still stuffing popcorn after popcorn into his mouth and weeping. THAT FISH LOVES HIS SON SO MUCH. ]

[Ryuko doesn't really make it over to the movies until the end of the night, and she is trying very hard not to look as interested in the not-Disney movies as she feels.

But as not-Frozen wears on, Ryuko gets more and more Intensely Engaged with the film. It's a story about two sisters, one of them breaking away from the expectations set by their parents, and... it just Resonates with her. And she doesn't know why. She's an only child... right?]
