What: Genos and Squalo throw a Solstice dinner party. Italian food for everyone!
When: December 21?ish (forward-dated a bit so it doesn't fall right before irl holidays)
Where: MANTICORE penthouse
Warnings: MANTICORE Squalo, Carnies, language, minors getting drunk, substance abuse, someone might decide to bone, idk.


[ Fuck the creepy shit, MANTICORE are aggressively throwing a Solstice party! Because why not, and who has the patience to wait until New Years? ]

[ There are locations/prompts in toplevels, but feel free to start your own as well. Generic timeline of the night would be: cooking, dinner, socializing with games and booze and possibly other things, and  a movie marathon into the wee hours of the morning for the ones interested.  ]

[ Genos and Squalo have taken it upon themselves to cook up a goddamn feast for everyone. If you showed up early, why not come in and help? Be an extra pair of hands, bring in your own recipes and suggestions, whine about it taking too long and you being hungry - just don't forget who's the ultimate boss of the kitchen right now or you might get doused in eggs and flour. ]

Superbia Squalo

[ Considering they had gotten pretty beat up recently, they could probably use the help. Even if Squalo seems... a little more aggressive about cooking than usual, if you know him enough to compare. ]

[ Like now. He's waving a knife in front of whoever got saddled with chopping the onions. ]

Do you know what "slice thinly" fucking means?!

Genos

[He's less loud than Squalo, but he'll start sorting people out. If you came to Genos first, you're stuck peeling potatoes.

Look, it's really hard to do one handed.

And occasionally Genos stares down at his hand like there's something missing...]

Aramat Drawdes/Tamara Seward

[Tamara has taken to being one of those 'helping hands' in the feast preparation. She's patient and might even help those with trouble or are being chewed out by her cello-son. (He gets... high strung over food.) She has NO PATIENCE for whiners that complain over it taking too long and crowding out the kitchen.

None. If you're not cooking, get the fuck out the kitchen.]

Ryuko

[Ryuko has been blessed with several talents. She's a damn good bassist. She has somehow convinced people not to think she's too weird to hang out with despite eating lemons. She can punch people in the face very hard.

But this...

She's staring at a bunch of vegetables and holding a knife. It feels... sub-optimal, for the task at hand.]

Anyone got cooking scissors? ... Cooking scissors are a thing, right?

Xanxus

[ It'd the smells that'll catch you first. They waft through the entire building like some asshole put pasta by a air duct and turned a fan on or something. It's heady and savory.

In the kitchen, Xanxus stands, wrapped in an apron, before a bubbling pot of something and for a moment, he's five again. He's five and there's a little old Italian lady in her ramshackle place bustling around the kitchen. His ear still smarts from where she had pulled it, dragging him away from where he had been pick-pocketing. Telling him how his mother would be so disappointed in him and that if he's going to learn a skill, it's going to be a useful one. Now stop scowling at me young man and get over here. These tomatoes won't stir themselves.

He shakes off the feeling of accomplishment the first time he made something delicious with his own two small hands, Granny Fonza, Saint of the Squatters, looking on with pride.

He puts a pinch of spice into the sauce and hums to himself. Some low rumbling opera aria no doubt. Was this his sauce to begin with? Probably not. Too bad, shouldn't have stepped away from it because he's fixing it now.

He doesn't even look from where he's working, getting a small tasting spoon full of it. ]

Oi. You. Taste this shit.

Lucifer

[Cooking? Lucifer doesn't cook unless it's microwave popcorn. But she'll definitely sip on a glass of wine and watch those involved with the cooking and engage in some friendly conversation while they do all the work. She's actually... strangely tame, but smiling more than she had been the week previous.]

Koumei Ren

[At least Koumei had managed the grace to tie his abominable mop of hair into an untidy bun to keep it out of everyone's way while he tried to help in the kitchen-- unfortunately, that was the only thing he had done. Eager as he was to assist any of the chefs who had made the kitchen their domain, it was quickly going to become apparent that the only thing Koumei was any good at was making coffee....

Which means he's moping somewhere in the corner, staring sadly at his sickeningly sweet brew. Care to cheer him up? ]

DINNER

[ THERE'S A LOT OF STUFF AND IT ALL LOOKS/SMELLS/TASTES GREAT. A feast has been set up in the middle of the dining area, and they probably had to borrow another table or two to set it all up. ]

[ Including but not limited to: chicken with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables, meat rolls, an array of sauces, rice, banana and blackberry pies, a selection of traditional Italiana dishes that amount to the Feast of Seven Fishes, as well as steak and pasta, godly tender flank steak, panettone and of course several kinds of pizza with a variety of sauces rich in tomatoes, garlic and chili. If you brought something over, it can be found on the table too! And booze, obviously. Lots and various kinds. ]

[ Grab a chair and join in! In true Europa spirit, this is also the time for conversations and heart-to-hearts between bites. ]

Superbia Squalo

[Well, Garnet's come. And she's also brought something for the group to enjoy. Though...weirdly enough, she brought several bottles of...booze. Enough for everyone at the party to have a cordial of it, of not two.

She, meanwhile, is enjoying the food. Om om.]

Tiger Universe

[Where is the kid's table, seriously.

Tiger feels super out of place, even with some of his bandmates there. Everyone is so old, and he feels like they are just tolerating him being present, because he's obviously not who this is intended for. The food is really great, though! He eats a lot, using that as a way of distracting his own attention from everyone else.

...And, he's going to end up trying to take some of the booze too. Of course, when he does, he almost immediately spits it up out of shock. Oh, it's so bad. It's soooo bad. Oh my god why.]

Ryuko

[Ryuko's plate is mostly meat. She doesn't seem inclined towards or against any kind of meat in particular, she just. Girl likes her meat. And she is chowing the heck down.

She also has some booze, but so does basically everyone, it looks like. Do you dare interrupt her intense focus on her food?]

Fetch

[Fetch is packing away the food and it's either going to be impressive or downright bizarre because she's eating like there will never been anything to put in her stomach again after this.

Which might be true, considering how much freaking food there is. She has a little bit of everything, but the fish is where it's at. She goes to spear the last of a huge side of it and her fork clashes with somebody else. Is it you? She'll fight you.]

ALL AROUND THE PENTHOUSE

[ So, everyone has eaten, now it's time for fun! Whatever that might entail, do not let anything limit you. ]

[ Some options to get the ball rolling: sit down somewhere more comfortable for chats, hit the boardgames, the videogames, the drugs, join MANTICORE's Spin the Bottle or Mario Kart tournaments, start a fight, a balloon fencing contest, a play-off or sing-off (there'll be a small area set up with a bunch of plugged in instruments and number cards for "judges"), sneak into the bathroom to put dye in Squalo's shampoo, get a pal and slip off into someone's bedroom... please keep out of Ryuko's and Orion's, though, those sweet children do not deserve that kind of trauma. ]

Trucy Wright

[Trucy decides to make use of one of the guitars they have set up to perform her rendition of 'Last Solstice.' Actually, she's a pretty good singer and her guitar playing is top notch. (Mostly because of that fame power she's rocking.) Once she finishes, she takes a bow whether anyone is watching or not, then cheerfully calls out to the crowd.]

Koumei Ren

[He was taking everyone at Mario Kart.

Thanks to a certain bout with a certain Carnie at a certain Party, Koumei had somehow found a dainty little tiara and an elaborate pink dress packaged neatly in front of Cosmic Indulgence's penthouse. While it was enough to get a good laugh out of him, he also now felt like he had something to make up for.

His Pride was at stake....and he may or may not have brought that tiara along to wear while he slaughtered everyone with Princess Peach.]

Fetch

Fuck your blue shell!

[Fetch is one of those players. The ones who shout at everyone else on the track and generally doesn't shut up during the whole game. She's playing as Bowser, if that's any surprise to anyone, and isn't doing too bad in second / sometimes third place.

She had only just been in first for a grand total of three seconds before somebody decided to blue shell her. A-holes.]

MOVIE NIGHT

[ Tired of socializing? Fear not, there's a very special movie night going on in one of the corners with the biggest TV and the comfiest couches and beanbags. ]

[ The selection of the movies include (assume that it's a Tera-equivalent of these, so that anyone from those canons wouldn't suffer from fourth wall): JAWS, Pacific Rim, The Iron Giant, a few latest superhero blockbusters, a shark documentary, MEGAS XLR and whatever you decided to bring over or rent from the virtual selection. The very last movies of the night, however, will be Disney. Hey, by now you'll be drunk/high enough to appreciate it, right? ]

Superbia Squalo

[ It's fucking 4 AM, and Squalo's out of it. There's no telling what kind of crazy shit he might've been up to for most of the night, but right now he's calmed down and sunken into the backrest of the sofa, holding a popcorn bowl with one hand and continuously putting it one grain at a time into his mouth with the other, eyes locked on the TV and a lone tear slowly rolling down his cheek. ]

[ What's on? Well, Finding Nemo obviously. ]

Genos

[It's not even that late yet. Maybe just after 12 AM and Genos is starting to tear up. His attention is completely captivated by events unfolding on screen. He's completely still as he watches The Iron Giant.

This robot just cares so much and Genos is going to be weeping by the end of it.]

Tiger Universe

[Tiger comes over to the movies to crash as soon as he starts feeling bad. He's glad he missed JAWS anyway...he doesn't like scary movies, even if he'd like to pretend he can hack them. He doesn't like seeing people get hurt, even when it's fake.

Pacific Rim is more his speed, though, and despite a growing feeling of nausea and a tummy ache, he managers to get through the movie while feeling pretty okay. He laughs at anything that's funny with genuine excitement, even if he's feeling kind of ill by the end. He falls asleep during the Iron Giant a few times, but it's okay, because he's seen it before.

He knows what's happening enough that the end still makes him get weepy.

He sleeps for a while and wakes up enough to start asking somewhat delirious questions about sharks, and to get verbally distressed about them hunting other animals.]

Lucifer

[It's been a strangely quiet party for the one who'd climbed up the side of a wall and nearly set a chair on fire at Naomi's shindig. Movies in a pile of Pride musicians sounds like just her speed. She puts a blanket over her shoulders, has a glass of wine and a little plate of some leftover potatoes, and watches from a nice spot on the floor with her back against the couch. For the most part, she's watching everyone else enjoy themselves or squabble-- or both.]

[It's a nice night.]

Koumei Ren

[Who would have thought that, of all the possibilities, it was the stream of classic Disney Princess movies that would finally lul Koumei into the depth of a much needed sleep. Sprawled out on one of the sofas with his bun askew and long auburn locks tangled up in the delicate little tiara, Koumei was fast asleep.

He may or may not be using you as a pillow. He doesn't care.]
