What: Genos and Squalo throw a Solstice dinner party. Italian food for everyone!
When: December 21?ish (forward-dated a bit so it doesn't fall right before irl holidays)
Where: MANTICORE penthouse
Warnings: MANTICORE Squalo, Carnies, language, minors getting drunk, substance abuse, someone might decide to bone, idk.


[ Fuck the creepy shit, MANTICORE are aggressively throwing a Solstice party! Because why not, and who has the patience to wait until New Years? ]

[ There are locations/prompts in toplevels, but feel free to start your own as well. Generic timeline of the night would be: cooking, dinner, socializing with games and booze and possibly other things, and  a movie marathon into the wee hours of the morning for the ones interested.  ]

Drinking's not the way to go if you want to grow up.

[He pauses for a moment, and then says, more soberly:]

It makes people feel better, doesn't it?

It makes people make stupid decisions and think they're doing better than they normally are. It's just a way to make it easier to pretend things are okay.

...That's what we're supposed to be doing now, isn't it?

[It's an earnest question. This kid is severely lacking in direction. All they can do is pretend to be okay and try to survive.]

Yeah. [She's quiet before she reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder.]

But so long as we stay smart, we will be okay. So no drinking--it makes you dumb.

Oh...

[He doesn't feel like he's ever been very smart about any of this. So that makes him pretty much screwed. He sighs, and then says, very quietly.]

I don't think I'm very smart about this stuff.

The way I see it... we do exactly the opposite of what we've been doing. Keep our heads down. Don't act up.

You'll be okay, Tiger. I just need you to trust me on that.

[tigermillionaire]

[He looks down and stares at his hands. Maybe he shouldn't talk about this, it only makes him sad and scared...]

I don't want to be here forever...

[His voice is very small.]

[The thought of being trapped here forever... Kido crouches in front of him. Her eyes are red when she does.]

You're not gonna be here forever, Tiger. We'll get out. Lesedi can't keep us here forever.

[Tiger looks at her, pausing for a moment when he sees her eyes change colour. He frowns, reaching forward in concern.]

Kido...Kido be careful your...[His voice is low, barely audible.] Your eyes did something...

[She glances away. Takes a deep breath. Closes her eyes.]

They do that now. Since the party.

[Tiger swallows, and nods. She's probably safe here, anyway, but...he doesn't want her to get in trouble anymore.]

I know how you feel.

[He pulls at the hem of his shirt nervously.]

[Well that's a troubling answer.]

[He shakes his head.]

I don't wanna talk about it right now.

[blindfoldcode]

Are you okay? [There's another flash of red because she's earnestly worried about him.]

[tigermillionaire]

Yeah...I think so...

[His cheeks flush a little - he's still pulling his shirt down unnecessarily.]

I just have to keep something secret.

[blindfoldcode]

[She tugs on his hands, just to pull them from his shirt. Stop being obvious.]

I'm always around, kid.

[tigermillionaire]

I know.

[That much she has made clear. He doesn't doubt it for a second.]

We can talk about it later, okay?

[blindfoldcode]

You got it. I'll tell you about this, too. [Her eyes.

She can't help it though. She goes for a very tiny, not very messy hair ruffling.]

Okay, deal.

[He brightens a little. Something about him being happy seems a lot more natural on his features than sadness or anger.]

[blindfoldcode]

[This is so much better than smacking her hand away. She stand and stretches.]

But no more alcohol. And if someone tries to get you to, tell them I said I'd steal all your makeup.

[He still smiling, though more sheepishly. He rubs his arm.]
