Oh? When's the last time you've done it?

[ HE'S GONNA TRIM YOU MEI. JUST YOU WAIT. ]

....

I honestly don't remember.

[He so needs a trim...]

Riiight. [ drawls, still rubbing the conditioner in. ] Guess you'll get one later.

[ Once he's done, he'll try to hold that mess of hair up in something between a bun and a nest, secured with pins. It's ought to stay in for fifteen minutes or so. A chance for more drinks? You'd bet. ]

'Kay, you can relax for a while now.

Thanks.

[Careful not to disturb the pile of hair on his head, Koumei leaned back against the porcelain basin again and relaxed his shoulders, content to just breathe in the scents and the steam of their bath.]

So...we're letting it soak in to work it's magic, right? Deep conditioning?

[See? He knew some of his stuff!]

That's right.

[ He leans back himself and sinks in deeper, until his head's rested against the edge. ]

Why do you keep it so long?

[Silence was the immediate reply, as Koumei sunk deeper into the water and tried to find the answer to that question.]

I...

[...he didn't know anymore. The usual story of his mother telling him not to alter his hair didn't feel like it was correct anymore. Instead, he saw something else in his mind's eye-- piles of papers rolled up into scrolls, an earnest young boy training with a sword, a stern man with kind eyes and a grave demeanor.

Nothing made sense anymore.]

Who can say? [He asked, suddenly very tired.] It's been so long that I don't know the reason anymore.

...

[ Ah. Feeling lost. Isn't that basically the norm nowadays? He does his best not to give in, but sometimes it gets difficult to tell what's real anymore. ]

[ At least this situation helps. Drinks, a hot bath, a hot body next to him. All affecting very primal senses, it gives a certainty to the here and now. It's really happening, and this moment is really his. That's always nice. ]

That's funny. [ He mentions lightly enough, raising his glass again. ] I'm not entirely sure, either. It's... important, though.

[Those drinks were tempting with this turn of the conversation-- Koumei reached for his glass, and drew a long, pensive sip from it. The closeness with a warm, strong body was a strange comfort for him, in a way that he couldn't quite define.]

...Perhaps it is for you, [he said quietly.] I don't think it's even anything so important for me.

Hmm. [ Perhaps it is for him, indeed. He vaguely recall a promise of some kind, though he has no idea what fucking hair has to do with "realization of the plan", whatever it was. Maybe he could just say it's done? But he's grown fond of this length... ] Well, it looks good.

[ He offers, and strokes the other's arm under the water in reassuring. ]

[Koumei scooted over, shifting the bubbles in the hot water, and offered a tired but grateful smile at Squalo.]

Your's does too. Thanks.

Ooh, is that flirting?

[ Don't mind him turning and nuzzling somewhere under your jaw, Mei. He doesn't care about getting conditioner on his face, they're in a goddamn bath he'll just wash it off. ]

You're right, though. That seems to often be the case.

Maybe, [he murmured, grinning slyly at the man as he got himself comfortable. A little mild flirtations never hurt anyone, and it was a welcome distraction for the time being.]

Did you want to make something of it?

Maybe. [ Two can play this game. ] Ever done it in the bath? [ WHOOPS except one of them clearly has no idea what 'mild' means. ]

[Oh dear. Someone clearly has no sense of subtlty.]

Aren't you the one who said I was too thirsty before?

[ ~Elite assassin~, everyone. ]

Vooooi, I'm just making conversation.

[ The shit-eating grin clearly suggests he plans to make it more than conversation eventually, though. ]

Conversation, or foreplay?

[Those fingers danced up the length of Squalo's arm again-- gently teasing the man.]

How about both?

[ Smoothly, he moves his other arm to take Koumei's hand and entwine their fingers together - and then he's slightly tugging him closer, probably going for a kiss. ]

You'll still have to wash my hair first, though.

We can arrange for that, [he said, leaning forward to steal a kiss while he grabbed for the shampoo that was sitting behind Squalo.]

[ He smirks at that, kissing back and giving the other man's lips a playful lick once it's done. Then he moves to go down into the water, getting his hair wet. ...It's a lot of hair. ]

I'll trust the magic of your fingers extends to this.

[Chuckling, Koumei started to pour the shampoo onto his wet hands.]

It may not be as good as your's, but I can certainly try!

[And it was a challenge he was more than prepared for.]

You know I have high expectations for you.

[ He sounds amused as he sits up again and moves so that his back's turned to the other man, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. ]

Then here's to hoping that they'll be met, [he hummed, gently sinking his soapy fingers into Squalo's hair so he could massage the other man's scalp.]

And don't skimp out.

[ He's being an asshole playfully, or something. Either way, he'll let the other man do his work and enjoy it. Maybe direct him a bit, asking for a scratch here or there, but for the most part it's on him. It's really nice, actually. Having someone's fingers in your hair. And this whole... casual atmosphere that taking a bath comes with. Nothing outrageous, just two people going about their daily lives. With company. It's relaxing. ]

[Very relaxing. Koumei was fond of solitude, but he hated the feeling of being absolutely alone. There was always the feeling of others around in his mental landscape, and true loneliness was an unknown concept to him.

It was just quiet relaxation with people he was comfortable with. That was the most important thing in his life.]

I never will, [he murmured, firmly massaging the suds through Squalo's smooth and astonishingly thick hair.]

[ Thought like a true family man. Then again, Squalo can relate, to an extent. He can't help but think there's someone extremely important missing from his life. ]

Not when you're handling my hair. [ It'll get a pleased sound from him eventually, almost a purr. ]
