"Then lets get going."

He'll start heading towards the backdoor.

She'll follow along. She looks a little less dazed than when they first came off the stage. "I know that was weird, but... thanks." She really doubted anyone else would've played that with her.

[wounds]

"You're welcome... It... was good." Despite the odd feeling during the performance, it felt real. The music felt overpowering and true.

Can't say that about every song.

"We should do it again sometime." She says it in a half-playful tone like she might not be serious. She's totally serious.

"I'd like that," honest. Though maybe not a song that has them on such opposite ideals.

[blindfoldcode]

"You have to write the next song. It only went over because you played it well this time." She wonders if he's upset about those oppositions.

[wounds]

"You're locking yourself into this now. Pretty sure it was your lyrics." He's not upset exactly, he knows they're two very different people. The bottom line, the last stanzas they sung, say that they want similar things, even if it's two opposing ways of protecting.

She nudges him in the side. "There's a reason I'm not the lyricist for System Crash."

[wounds]

"Doesn't fit your image, but it was still good."

[blindfoldcode]

"You're still writing the next song." She rolls her eyes before she stuffs her hands in her hoodie pockets.

[wounds]

"If you insist. Just don't expect it to be as good."

[blindfoldcode]

"I think you have really low standards." She pulls her hood back up, making sure to tug it low over her eyes.

[wounds]

"You're not giving yourself enough credit."

[blindfoldcode]

"You give me too much. It works out."

[wounds]

"Don't think it works like that. Maybe give yourself more and I won't have to shower you."

[blindfoldcode]

"Maybe you're just inflating my ego. That'd be a disaster."

[wounds]

"Maybe you need a little of it."

[blindfoldcode]

"I took an ego cut a few years ago. I'm better off without a big head."

[wounds]

"Nothing wrong with knowing when you're doing well."

[blindfoldcode]

"What about you? How do you think you're doing?"

[wounds]

"Perfect." He winks behind his glasses.

He doesn't quite mean that honestly. But he's been doing pretty well for himself, he thinks.

[blindfoldcode]

She rolls her eyes at him with another elbow to his side. "You'd be solo if it wasn't for you catching the eye disease, huh?"

[wounds]

He just laughs. "Of course I would."

Of course he wouldn't. He loves his band. He's been with them long enough they're people he wants to protect. At least, in his own way.

[blindfoldcode]

"I'm definitely balancing out the world, then." She stuffs her hands into her jeans pockets. "You're being full of yourself."

[wounds]

"I'm just aware of when I do well. Unlike a certain somebody." A tiny smile as he glances over.

"Oh good, that one's open." He can feel his stomach growling as they approach the diner. Distantly he's aware that shouldn't happen. He'll put a lid on it for now. It's something he can examine later on if he really has to.
