What: What happens when Lucifer has a minor identity crisis? Shockingly, she's only quietly destructive.

[Maybe that's why she calls herself Lucifer-- because no matter what she says or does, she'll never get the benefit of the doubt. She wears the name like everything she's ever done wrong in her life is a particularly comfortable coat, and nothing underneath would ever be seen. The devil did it... The devil always does it.]

[Squalo had a damned good point though-- anyone she was close to could become a target for Santiago whenever this favor is called up. That she didn't blame him for. Hell, she shouldn't blame him for anything she's feeling because it's messed up. She shouldn't care about getting rebuffed for trying to help, what skin was it off her nose? Who gave a shit if he held her at bay with the reminder of her deal with Santiago like it was a crucifix? The fact that he seemed not to care about her murdering two people shouldn't make her hope that people would understand she'd just been trying to defend herself.]

[No. She shouldn't feel any of those things because no one would ever reciprocate. No one ever had sympathy for the devil. This feels like a lesson she's forgotten, a reason why she can't remember any friends aside from before she joined Pride. No matter what she did, no one would think she wasn't completely evil or ready to lie to them or stab them in the back. No doubt that was why 'Lucifer'. She isn't anything like a spirit of rebellion and inspiration-- she's evil incarnate. She's ruthless and merciless. She'd kill you for a Klondike bar.]

[It would be so much easier if she didn't want to make connections with people, if she looked at the people she saw often and felt nothing. But no, she's risking her life to save Xanxus, she's teaching Jamie intimacy, she's comforting Terry after Naomi's party... What the fuck, why does it suddenly feel so wrong for her to feel positively about those memories? Why does it feel so foreign?]

[Carnie Suite]

[Luci stays in bed after she gets back from her confrontation with Squalo. She doesn't want to talk to anyone or see anyone, but given she's right where she usually is when she's upset it's not terribly hard to find her. Especially when she doesn't come out to eat and has shut off her phone.]

[Pride HQ - 14th]

[After being convinced to exit the suite if only to stretch her legs, Luci goes through the motions of procuring a cup of soup from the cafe downstairs to bring back up to the suite. No makeup, her hair product-free, she's only looked like this after Naomi's party. Something is clearly wrong with her.]

Ooh, hatesex. [Luci grins, clearly intrigued.] I thought that was only a trope on that fanfiction website, but I feel like I'd pay money to see you and Squalo metaphorically growling at each other while banging.

[It'd be pretty, for one thing.] So you like guys only? Not like it's my business, but I do know some of the prime targets in Pride. If you're interested.

[He preens a bit] Who am I deny this [He makes a sweeping motion over himself] to any one?

But anyways, hate sex. It's something I've indulged in from time to time. Mostly at school. I didn't go to a prestigious school like Xanxus and Mai did, but it was still very competitive. You wouldn't believe how many people with 'natural talent' had it for someone like me who worked hard to be as good as they are.

[Luci barks a laugh, amused rather than critical of his narcissism. She couldn't exactly fault him for thinking 'God, I can't possibly deny someone the privilege of sex with me because of their plumbing'. She's of the same mind, after all.]

Oh I'm sure you just got them all bothered under the collar, dear. [She grins. This is better than talking about her crisis.]

It's one of my finer qualities; getting people riled up. Most people do better with a bit of fire under their ass.

I would agree-- rivalry can do wonders for the work ethic, for thinking in ways you don't think the other would... it's really too bad that our generation of Pride and Virgo bands just doesn't give a shit about beating the other.

...aside from the obvious attempt to murder us all but, you know.

[He shakes his head] I still don't understand what happened there. All I know is I'm glad I wasn't there when it happened.

I've tried to initiate some rivalry between Crown of Thorns and Flowers over Bones since we're both classical bands, though CoT is goth to FoB's hipsters. [He makes a face.] I hate hipsters.

So who are these boys you want to hook me up with? No one from Flashstep I hope? They're a little young for me.

[He's actually the same age as most of them, but details]

Yeah I don't think that you want FoB's fans-- they wear flower-encrusted sunglasses and take selfies all day long. [She grins only because she's done that before with Luce. It's probably the most ridiculous shit she's gotten up to with a Virgo musician.]

Oh don't be a spoilsport, what's a few years? [After all, she wouldn't mind an evening with Tamara...] You date younger for youthful exuberance, and older for wisdom and experience.

I have a bit of a feud going on with Jamie. The little one. I doubt the others would be fond of me.

What about that prettyboy from Hue & Cry? The one who whaled on Terry at Naomi's party? Finnick Odair?

Honestly? I don't even remember. I think I called him jail bait eye candy with no ass, he caught me at a bad moment. But in any case he's fun to rile him up.

[he makes a thoughtful sound] He is pretty. But he strikes me as very into the female side.

...well you kind of have him on the no ass bit. And the jailbait bit. [Whoops.] But he's got a mean shove, watch yourself darling. [She smirks.]

Really? [Luci frowns, clearly disbelieving but maybe Tooru knows something she doesn't.] I always figured any of us would give anything a go. Alright well... what about... literally any of the boys in Hue & Cry? There's a redhead now, he looks cute.

I speak nothing but the truth. [A shrug] I have him by at least sixty pounds. He can try.

[He gives another shrug] That's the vibe I get. But all the boys of Hue and Cry are nice looking. That one with the tattoos and the really clumsy air, Dino. I wouldn't mind having my way with him.

Yeah, you probably have me by at least forty, you think you can take me? [Luci grins, all teeth, all subtle suggestion that she would kick his ass if he tried. But it could be fun.]

Oh yeah, he's pretty cute. I feel like I could snap him in half, but I like that sometimes. Plus there's the added Virgo Danger...

[he looks at her critically]

No. I don't think I could take you in a brawl.

[to be perfectly honest, despite being athletic and in shape (very much in shape thank you. He was tones perfection) he really wasn't much of a fighter, that was a fact he was very honest about. Most people could take him in a fight. He would survive it, and he would do some damage, but really? It was doubtful he would win.]

He's adorable. I want to snatch him up and pet his hair.

[he gives a snort of laughter at "Virgo Danger"]

That doesn't seem to stop Xanxus with the teenager from Virgo.

Why don't you, then? He seems sweet, and if he has a boyfriend or girlfriend I'm sure we could convince him you're a better option. [Coffee sip.]

Darling, not much stops Xanxus. Especially Virgo Danger. I think, if he were capable of finding things cute, he'd find it cute.
