Jack vs Technology

[To Jack, all the weird and interesting things being thrown at him in the past few days had been eye-opening. Not in the sense of 'how could I live my life without this?' but in the sense of 'are there any angry ghosts attached to this that will kill me?' So the communicator was given the same strange look that he gave everything else he was asked to handle. He then promptly tested it out, got dizzy by the writing part, muttered about daft buggers and promptly forgot he had it.

He dug it out a little later on in order to use the picture capture function to take pictures at the music festival thing. So a day later - once he found out how to do it - he loaded the pictures to the Network. These included pictures of Jack's teeth, a couple thumbs, the face of a compass with a wildly spinning needle, an upside down bottle of rum, some various shoes, and then some various stills of the artists as they preformed on stage.

Oh yes, and a picture of a plate of fried food.

With the pictures are these words:]

Does any of these people look familiar?

My mom is here too. I don't know what her human self looks like because they have her locked up somewhere else.

Your mom is a monster too? Hopefully not of the teethy kind, right?

Not really. I mean, she HAS teeth.

Most things have teeth I was thinking of the kind of teeth that are a bit sharper and teethier than most, savy?

She kinda has fangs but she mostly eats snails and pie. And snail pie. Most monsters don't like human food.

But do they like people as food, is what I'm pondering. Some of the ones I've met seem to have a thing for human pie but I'm not sure as to why. Even the tribe I was king of once didn't always eat humans.

Just checking since I have ran into a fair number of monsters that go in for the human variety of meat.

So. A good monster that eats snails and such and a skeleton, correct?

Yep!

There are other kinds of monsters too but none of them came with me

But considering that these people have made a grab for two of the monsters you know, it might be wise to think that they might grab more, seeing that I cannot picture them from leaving well enough alone. They seem like the greedy sort of buggers.

Yeah, they might. I was surprised they didn't take Mettaton. He's already a rock star.

Maybe they are people who enjoy a challenge?

I guess. They could've just kidnapped people from here too.

[Not that they're advocating it, but Frisk knows full well that some people don't have families or anyone to miss them if they vanished.]

Methinks that there might be a reason why they cannot. After ll, if they could just grab from people of this world, there would be no need to use a ton of resources to fetch those from other worlds.

Yeah.

Maybe people from other worlds have stronger music magic.

Which means we better be on the look out and make sure that they do not notice us otherwise it would be us on stage next and I don't do singing.

Me neither.

At least if we're split up they can't get all of us at once.

I don't be planning on berthing at the same place for more than a few nights, mesself.

["Berthing" takes them a little while, but Frisk knows how to look up words they don't know.]

Good... [Blasted machine; Jack gives it shake to see if it could tell him more then the generals and then gives up when it beeps at him.] person. Mayhaps we shall meet and heave-to one night.
