Withered flowers forget what they wept for day after day

[He's had a busy week, between interviews, promo gigs and just trying to get a little time to himself to actually go out and be a teenager between work. Thankfully, today is a day that he can have some time to himself, so he flips his cellphone out to text a certain black-haired beauty that he'd been thinking about for the last few weeks.

He brings her up in his contact list, and starts texting as one would expect a normal high school girl to text their friends.]

hey u free today? got sum tiem off was wondering if i could take u out 2 have some fun weather is gunna b gr8! u still wanna hit the zoo up?

[He starts to protest, the words you knew what I meant starting to form, but she cuts him off before he gets the chance. The mention of the other big cats gets his attention, and he's doing his best to psych himself up for this.]

Seriously? Me either, I guess I've seen them on TV, or maybe whenever I was here last...well, come on! Time's a wastin'!

[He'll happily lead her in the direction of the pandas. To get that part over with so they can look at something cool.]

[She nods merrily, letting him lead.]

Of course. I don't want to delay too much.

[And when they get over to the enclosure, she finally lets go of his hand, gripping the rail on the edge of it. She looks really...quite excited, honestly, grinning almost childishly.]

Look! They're playing with bamboo!

[And in fact? Two of the pandas seem to have uprooted a small tree and they're holding it up between them, shoving it back and forth like two lumberjacks with a saw.]

Oh that's just cute!

[When she lets go of his hand, his arms fold across his chest as he stands just slightly behind her, looking at the pandas. It's not...the most exciting thing in the world, but he's more preoccupied watching her have fun rather than looking at the animals.]

Man, you weren't kidding about liking pandas. Heheheheh, I've got the feeling they could be doing anything and you'd think it was cute.

[She snorts a laugh, turning away from the animals to look back at him with a half-smile. Yeah, she gets that you're probably not too thrilled about this...but you're still standing there anyway. Which is good enough for her.]

You don't think they're cute?

[She pushes backwards a bit, bumping up against him lightly, and quite deliberately.]

I mean, look at them go.

[They've lifted the stick over their heads in unison now, and it's fairly obvious they've been trained to do this, but they start waving it too and fro at the people watching them.]

Hey!

[He says, hands coming up to grab the sides of her shoulders as she bumps into him. God this is the best trip ever, and Rei is being so open about kinda liking him and all this how could this be better]

I'm not saying it isn't cute or anything, but they're just waving a stick at us. I mean, it's cool if you like it a lot! That's why we came here, right? [He starts to backpeddle a bit.]

[Why should she hide it? Luce had told her to act like herself. That's what she's doing, and if she didn't like you she wouldn't be here...]

Yes, it is. It's pretty great. So, thanks for asking me to go.

[One hand leaves the railing and reaches up to her shoulder, resting on top of his.]

It's a nice chance to relax and spend time with someone outside the family.

[Even the smallest gesture of her hand resting on top of his makes his face flush again, though nothing too bright or embarrassing. It is, to say the least, exciting. She's not exactly his girlfriend or anything, but with the way their interactions have gone so far, he's feeling more and more confident about asking her.]

Hey, no problem... [He says, his voice light and a little breathless.]

Uhhh, um...I bet there's a little souvenir shop around here that has panda stuff, if you wanna go check it out.

[So far, she's not sure if she'd commit to that, but she's certainly giving it a little thought. Her hand lingers only a moment, before patting his and dropping back down to the guardrail. She's still leaning against him a bit though.]

Oh? Yes, actually that's a good idea.

[She doesn't want to be selfish and keep him here, even if she could probably watch them for another ten or fifteen minutes at least.]

Let's go do that, then find your big cats, right?

[He suggests that, but he doesn't want to particularly move either.]

Well, we can go when you're ready. Looks like they're play fighting now.

[It's not the most exciting thing ever, but he guesses it's kinda cool to watch them play, rolling around and batting at each other.]

[Rei's attention focuses on the animals again, and she's quiet for a minute or two, watching them and giggling softly to herself. This is so cute, and the way they're playing is just...adorable.

But, of course propriety takes over just a bit. He wanted to see something else too, and it wasn't like she wanted him bored either. This wasn't about pandas, or just her. This was about both of them.]

I think I'd like to go. I definitely don't want to hog all the fun.

[She turns on her heel, quickly spinning and smiling warmly right up at him.]

So! Let's go. I think I saw the souvenir stand just around the corner, and it's on the way to the lion pens.

[Her right hand reaches for his, and she's happy to take charge if he's down for that.]

[He lets his hand fall into hers, pretty content with where this was going now. He can deal with the break in contact, because now he has her hand instead of her leaning up against him. He responds as they walk, keeping an eye out for anything that might look interesting on the way to the shop.]

It's cool, as long as you're having fun, I'm having fun!

[He says brightly, entering the shop. It's not too large, but big enough to sport some nice souvenirs. His eyes dart around, looking specifically for panda things for her. He doesn't really want anything for himself, so he'll beeline over to them when he finds them.]

How about this? [He grabs a decent sized plushie for her to look at.]

[She follows, happily walking along with their hands linked. There's not a lot to see in the shop but there's definitely panda stuff. And the plushie makes her eyes light up.]

Oh that's lovely!

[Rei reaches for it, giving it a little squeeze and testing the plushness of it. It seems...quite soft and she definitely thinks it's a worthwhile addition to the collection.]

I wonder how expensive it is?

[Turning it over, she looks for a price tag, and blinks in mild surprise. It's not cheap, nor expensive. Just somewhere in between, a good five bucks more than it should be. Overpriced, of course, because this is the zoo...and enough to make her frown.]

Goodness, they certainly expect a premium here.

[She goes to put it back down now, definitely not expecting him to pay for it. Even if she would like it, and they do make a good deal of money, that's not fair to ask. Not that she'd mind him buying it, but she just won't ask. Instead, she'll look towards a smaller one.]

[He's a little surprised. He wasn't expecting Rei to be worried about a little overpriced plushie. They do, after all, make tons of money. He'd understand if it were outrageous, but it's just five dollars extra. He picks up the panda she'd just put down.]

Don't you want it? I mean, it's not that bad for a plushie.

[He's going to buy it for her either way.]

[She, for all her wealth, is still a frugal girl. But when he picks it up, she stops and looks at him. There's a hint of confusion in her eyes that's quickly replaced with curiosity.]

I...yes? But it's overpriced. And you were offering to pay. I didn't want to assume...

[Because that would be rude.]

But if you're still offering...

Don't worry about it! [He waves a hand, to dismiss any concern.]

I got it. [He takes it, right to the cash register to pay for it. When he's done, he'll hand it to her.]

Here you go. One cute panda.

[Well she's not going to even pretend she didn't appreciate that. She hugs the plush, and sticks it back in the bag.]

Thank you. That's so very sweet of you.

[Her hand reaches for his, giving it a little squeeze.]

If I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to butter me up. [Hopefully by now? He's not thinking he needs to.]

W-What? No way, butter you up for what?

[Caught. Kind of. He's just trying really hard. It's the first actual date, he doesn't want to screw it up. He probably will though.]

[Still squeezing the plush, she looks over it at him and smiles a coy little smile. She knows. Oh she knows.]

A second date?

[She CAUGHT HIM see that look on her face crap crap crap she really did catch him]

O-O-Of course not! It's not like that at all! [Yes it is] But I mean, I'd be down if you wanted to go on a second one!

[She reaches out one hand and catches Yosuke by the wrist, gently this time.]

Hey. Yosuke? Slow down and think for a second. [She isn't going to tease him, she doesn't want to freak him out. She wants him to understand, not wig out like a spaz.]

Have I given you any indication or signal that I'm not enjoying myself? Or that I don't want to spend time with you? I like you! So, calm down use that head of yours and think about my answer for just a second, okay?

[She can wait, of course. And she will, patiently.]

Ah...

[He calms down a little, letting some of the tension release out of his shoulders. His eyes flick down quickly to the hand around his wrist, then back up to her.]

[The wheels start to turn.]

Were you hoping I was going to ask you for a second date? O-Or something like that?

Um...

[She blushes profusely, and nods.]

Yes? If...you want to...

[Time seems to hang, but only for a moment- until a giant, overly-excited smile folds over his features. His eyes widen, and it's all he can do to try to keep himself from yelling in happiness.]

Of course I do! [He answers quickly.] We could go to a movie, or go to...

[Click. Click click. Several clicks accompanied by the flash of lights happen from what seems to be behind some shelving. Cameras tilt out from behind them, taking pictures of the two.]

Huh....wha....?

I'd like tha-

[Her own face blossoms into a blush that quickly turns into a surprised blink.]

What?!

[A man with a camera steps out from behind those shelves, clicking more shots. Rei turns her head away in surprise!]

Oh! Oh no!

Hey, would you get out of our faces?!

[He presses his hand on the lens of the camera, to which the paparazzi yells right back at Yosuke.]

Hands off, buddy! That was expensive! Don't smudge it up! [Yosuke almost sneers back, really annoyed.]

Why don't you mind your own business then! [Heads are turning in the shop now...]
