Who: Haruka Tenoh & you!
What: A few days in the life of a chauffeur for hire. Who may get roped into some other activities.

Where: All over the city

[ option 1 - evening, musicians only ]

[ Hey, awesome! Your band ordered a limo. Or maybe they didn't and someone at this limousine company just thinks they did. Either way, they've dispatched one to come pick you up, and the chauffeur is both 1) very charming and 2) very handsome. ] Good evening. Where can I take you tonight?

[ No matter what facial expression the clients are wearing, this chauffeur keeps smiling. ]

[ option b - midday, outside of brad's diner ]

Step right up! Come one, come all!

[ Sigh. It would be just Haruka's luck that she'd check up on Minako - not even planning on entering the workplace, just peering in the window - when the place was short on staff. So now Haruka's out on the streets with a bunch of flyers, cheerful as can be...on the surface, anyway. Why is she so good at this. Why. ] Brad's Diner is trying a new dessert menu. A snack on your lunch break, sir? Madam?

[ She smiles at a group of high-school girls, who huddle together to support their sudden collective case of weak knees. ] Surely there's a better place to skip school, kittens.

[ She winks. One of the girls faints. Haruka laughs and turns to the next person she sees - you. ] Excuse me!

[ option c - morning, outside the virgo entertainment resort ]

[ If you're up at the crack of dawn, you may see someone heading for the building. But she's not looking at the door - instead, she seems to be taking stock of the windows and general layout.

She's also keeping to the shadows and looking...up. ]

[To his credit, for once in his life Artolo follows the rules of self preservation and puts on his seatbelt. That doesn't make it any less of a whiplash when she goes tearing away from the curb, and his delighted laughter rings out through the limo.]

I didn't know they were hiring race car drivers for their company now!

[ Haruka chuckles back. ] Just wait.

[ Once she gets onto a road with less traffic...it's not a direct route to where her passenger wants to go, but for evasion, that's not necessarily a bad thing...

...and it lets her floor it in the limo. There. Now there's a race car driver driving.

It is petty to be grinning as hard as Haruka is but wow, has she missed this. ]

[This is the best. He's so glad he has so much money now, because this is worth every penny in the tip he's going to give at the end of this. It takes a while for him to stop cackling, but he manages it somehow.]

I should hire your limos all the time if this can happen regularly!

If you request me personally I'll be much obliged.

[ Haruka relaxes. She's not going to drop the polite chauffeur persona - that would be silly - but she likes this client. ] Ask for Alex.

Alex, huh?

[Trying to go through the icebox while not accidentally smashing his head onto something at the same time, he grins.]

Artolo Apemis. The names fit together, if nothing else. You been driving for a while, huh?

Not for this company. [ Their pursuers are likely off their tails now. Haruka eases off on the accelerator, which still...isn't saying much, but should make for a smoother ride. Client first. ] Is a more roundabout route okay?

Hey, whatever keeps them boggled. [Relaxing back into his seat, he laughs again.] Hell, if you wanted to go through a drive through, I'd probably buy something for you too at this rate!

...That might stand out. [ A limo in this city, while not a day-to-day occurrence, is not unheard-of, Haruka's noticed. A limo in a drive-through, though...

...but who is she to say? Maybe even brainwashing can't eliminate a love of fast food in the town's celebrities. ]

And might not make the corner in the drive through, either.

[A dramatic sigh as he flops back and takes a drink.]

That's fast food places for you. So inconsiderate about limos.

Should I pick something up for you? [ This limo company believes in Service. Haruka is not used to providing Service (intentionally), but finds she's good at it. ]

Sure, what're you hungry for?

[Funny how his generosity is just as random as his dickishness...]

You're the client, sir. [ Service, okay? Service! ]

...Know if Ethiopian food does take out?

[This is what happens when you let him choose.]

[ ....huh. ] ...I'll find out.

[ Fortunately she only needs one hand to drive anyway. ]

[Limo drivers put up with so much, bless their souls.]

Got a handle on things?

[Literally, one hand, etc]

Are you normally this chatty with your employees, sir?

[ By the look on her face in the mirror, she means no disrespect. It's just something of a surprise.

Also she's totally driving better with one hand than some of these Sunday drivers on the road who are using two. ]

My manager says I have a loose mouth problem.

[So, yes.]

Sounds difficult to work with.

[ Inciting an uprising against your robot overlord? She would never. ]

[Really, she doesn't have to try very hard with anyone in CoT.]

You have no idea. I swear to god, if she kicked the bucket, no one would waste any tears.

Hasn't been on my ass lately, actually, and it's kind of weird.

[ ....okay, Haruka had told herself she wasn't going to go after managers personally. But this sounds like an opening. ]

Maybe there's something big planned. [ She tries to sound noncommittal in order to encourage him to continue. ]

[And there's finally a pause, his attention focused on the bottle he's idly spinning by the neck.]

[Something big, huh?]

...More like my goddamn idiot bandmates are getting their asses reamed something big, frankly.

That's unpleasant. [ But please. Go on. It's just them, and this is the long way, so they've got time.

They'll have even more time if Haruka decides she wants to take it and uses more detours. ]

[Unfortunately for Haruka, his lips on this matter are sealed. It's not even really the brainwashing. There's just no good way to say "my teammate was a goddamn idiot and threw something at our CEO's head".]

[So instead he snorts, teeth tapping against the glass of his bottle.]

Tell me about it. They don't tell you what a pain in the ass it is to be a musician sometimes. I recommend sticking to limo driving.

But you've never thought about changing careers?

[ Now she's just curious what the brainwashing will do with that question. Sorry, she's using her captive audience as a guinea pig.

On the bright side, she's going to get you takeout....? ]
