004 ┼ IF I'M GONNA DIE, I'M GONNA DIE HISTORIC

Who: Lucifer, Xanxus, Yuffie, Ace --and anyone crazy enough to join the crowd.
What: It's time for the Carnies to find another replacement. How can they top how they stole Poe?
When: Backdated to night, March 9th
Where: Starting in Vista, heading out of town

A tweet goes out from Luci's account, it gets retweeted and passed around-- "Find a set of wheels and join the Carnival at the bus depot off 6th at 10PM. Time to ride. #newblood"

At the appointed time and place, there's a flatbed truck idling on the asphalt, outfitted with speakers and a bolted down drum set. A couple of tech people are doing final checks, testing some winches, et cetera. It could be an elaborate stage set up, but given the truck is running, it doesn't take long for fans to panic that they might not have enough gas to stay for the whole show...

He offers a hand and a smile, "Name's Shin, their new guitarist. I'll let them know."

Already he's impressed by her style. As for him, he's wearing a suit jacket over a graphic tee that is riddled with holes. He's got black jeans with chains, and platform shoes that make him about three inches taller than he really is.

"It's Lucifer, right?"

"Hey, you guessed my name. More than I can say for your diva," Luci grins, so there probably aren't too many hard feelings towards Johanna. She's mostly just still bent out of shape about being snubbed, moreso than when Johanna tried to stab her at that crazy party.

"You can call me Luci," she says, taking Shin's hand and shaking it. It's a little stiff, she's trying not to make her sound tech's life too hard.

"I know we're supposed to think of each other as 'competition', but I should tell you, I really don't give a shit about that stuff. We make music, it's similar in sound, but that's about it-- right?"

Shin smiles at that, looking relieved, "I'm glad. We've got better things to fight for, right?" He pulls out a cherry-flavoured cigarette. Somehow he just couldn't stand any other kind. He then tilts the pack to her, "Do you smoke?"

"Like a chimney, but usually not before a show. Unless I'm nervous."

...She says as she has her harness double checked by a stunt guy.

"But I'll grab one and smoke it later, if you don't mind."

Shin offers a smile. It's a bit flirtatious, but he's far from laying it on heavy. It seems like he might not even know that he's doing it. "Sure. I plan on being around after the show too."

Aw, he's got a very cute face, and Luci can't resist a punk kid who looks like he could be jailbait.

"Yeah? Where's your ride?" she looks around, expecting to see the rest of Nuclear Parliament lurking around somewhere. She's a little disappointed when she can't spot them. Too bad he's the only one who decided to 'check out the competition'.

In some places he might actually be jail bait. Not that it's ever stopped him.

Shin points over to an electric blue motorcycle. "I got it to celebrate getting signed." He grins with a hint of mischief, "didn't expect it to come in handy like this."

"Sweet..." Luci grins, actually thrilled at how this kid is shaping up. Hopefully he'll be a little hellion on that bike, along with the rest of their breakneck fans.

"Good choice-- for one thing, you won't be tied to town cars and Ubers for the rest of time if you have your own set of wheels."

"It's pretty annoying needing to be driven around. Being tied to a label is enough restraint for me." He gives a bit of a nervous sounding laugh, "and it means Stella doesn't ride me instead to go rock climbing or something all the time." Stella being Nuclear Parliament's manager. If nothing else her energy was almost frightening. "I don't think she sleeps."

"Darling, I don't think any manager sleeps. They're like sharks, always moving even when they've shut off their brains for a while. Autopilot micromanagement."

She did, of course, look around to see if Camilla was lurking around before Luci said that, but the point still stands.

"I never pinned Nuclear Parliament as a group of rock climbers..."

"As far as I know, we're not," he says with a bit of a laugh. "She saw me watching some tv and started listing all the other things I could be doing. I would not be surprised to find out she's on crack." He is pretty sure she's not, but with her boundless energy it would make sense.

Not really wanting to go on about scary mamagers he asks, "so, what's happening after the show?"

Yeah, Luci is completely fine with getting away from talk of managers. Speak of them and they would appear, after all, and that's the last thing Luci wants.

"Same thing we do after every show-- party like the sun won't come up if we don't. And hopefully sign a new guitarist, of course."

"So you lost your guitarist. That's a shame." He laughs a bit, "I hope you're not planning on trying to steal me." Both bands seemed pretty insane, but Luci was more of his type of insane, though Roxas and Johanna hadn't been bad at all. Nuclear Parliament probably needed someone to be a loose canon.

"One of them, yeah." They were a powerhouse of guitar and bass, moving Yuffie up to main guitar seemed like the best course of action and she was ready for the challenge. They just needed one more to continue their famous wall of sound.

She barks a laugh at the suggestion that they would steal him. "Maybe for a night, but I like Parker too much for that. Maybe if it'd give Johanna a gray hair..." she grins mischievously. But in truth, keeping a Virgo musician in a Pride building was asking for that musician to be incinerated on sight. She might not know this kid very well, but she doesn't hate him enough to expose him to Lesedi Santiago.

Shin can't help but laugh at that. He just had a hard time seeing Johanna getting grey hair.

"I'll keep an eye out for any up-and coming guitarists for you," he promises with a wink. "Though I wonder if I should worry about tossing you fresh meat." It's a light-hearted jab said with a smirk. He's sure she knows just how intimidating she can seem, and he wouldn't be surprised if she could back it up too.

Luci, in response, snaps her teeth. "Surely you wouldn't let me starve...?" Shin is fun to banter with, just like Parker was at the party. Rival labels or no, part of the fun of this job is meeting her fellow artists and shooting the shit with them. Even if she's being wired for safety as she does it.

Shin chuckles at that. He's feeling the same way about Luci right now. "How could I possibly do such a thing? Best to give you a choice cut, so you don't just take someone's arm instead."

"Ugh, not a chance-- legs are better. Less bone to worry about," she says with a wink. "But preferably, I'd like a whole musician, not just a partial one."

Shin laughs at that, "Well, if you need a hand, I'll help you kidnap someone. We can get a white van and everything."

"Tinted windows?" she asks. "I only work with tinted windows. Exclusively."

Shin laughs at that and adds, "Wouldn't be a proper one without. Puppies, candy, or candy?"

"Oh candy, obviously. I got some in my trailer, if I can tempt you," she says with a grin. She's got a concert to run, but she can still play around with the new kid in Parker and the Diva's band, can't she?

Shin laughs and a classically charming smile and 'teases', "My price is quite a bit higher than some candy."

"Ahh, a clever one." Luci takes it as a joke, of course, because Shin's a rockstar now. Obviously he wouldn't be propositioning her, not like this. Right? "How about a pony?"

No, he would.

He really would.

Old habits die hard?

"Maybe a mustang," he smirks, meaning the car.
