☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2
Who: Royals, Heroes, and Rebels.
What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

“Every prince is a fantasy, The witch is inside of me. Her poison will wash away the memory.” ☆BETTER TO PRETEND  The day has finally come for Fairy Trial filming to begin! No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.” |
☆THE SWAN CHALLENGE
[While the Royal will get an eyeful of the full extent of this course, the Hero won’t and will have to get ready with what’s right ahead of them at the starting line. Perhaps their Royal will yell something in the process, but for now…]

However, Tsuna accidentally hits the wrong button and causes Ivan trouble on the course. Ivan has to use up time recovering from the mishap. They slide down with seconds to spare.
SHEN & PAPYRUS
that's what he's telling himself, anyway. it's working so far.
he fingers the buttons idly, looking over the course with more interest than apprehension. good thing it's not him trying to do that, is all he can think...]

The sight of the array of obstacles doesn't set him back. If anything, it's comforting and familiar to see all these puzzles in the way of his goal! They're something like home. No, the only thing that gives him pause is the sight of his Royal, trapped on the pole up there.
He steps up to the base of the first ramp, poses again at the cameraperson's prompting... then begins charging up towards the barrels.]

So of course it can't stay that easy. His Royal hollers something, distracting him enough that he glances up and over where they're restrained. A few spray guns activate across the obstacle course, so it seems like Shen was warning him about them. And he misses that the newly released barrels are coming with more momentum.
One rams into his shin, and Papyrus ducks down to rub at the sore bone.]

[He barely dodges the next, and the next. Good job, Royal, your Hero is now being kept on his toes.]

[Has Papyrus forgotten this is a performance, or is he just really in character...? Either way, he leaps past the last of the barrels at the top of the ramp, reaching the spinning platform and holding on.
With those foam protrusions as grips, he can take a quick breather for a couple of rounds, right? Or will the Royal activate those spray guns again, and send high pressure water jets to try knocking him off? ]

[Fun fact: the foam protrusions make pretty good grips when you're on a spinning platform. Until they're soaking wet. Then it's a struggle to hold on tightly enough not to slip backwards from the momentum of the spinning.
Between his wet footing, the slick foam, and the pressure of the erratic water jets? There's no getting a breather here. Like trying to climb a waterfall just to stay on it.
He eyes the final challenge, and leaps forward when it's coming near.]

he's still trying. Shen's...actually kind of impressed, in a part of him not feeling unhappy with this fear and anxiousness and...hope?

he bites his lip as Papyrus lunges forward - and makes a decision. he pushes the last button - the one to slow things down. maybe he can do this...]

Sure, he made the jump off the spinning platform onto the walkway. But the bar up here is designed to knock him off, even if he's lying down. Shen's choice to slow it gave Papyrus enough time to get back to his feet and skitter forward, around the walkway and up to the Royal's platform.
Well, enough time to do it without relying on powers that would get him in all kinds of serious trouble, given that he's being televised right this instant.
He reaches Shen's platform with a wide grin, panting from the exertion.]

[Papyrus fishes out the keys, and kneels before Shen to better reach the restraints. In short order, he's freed.]
