☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2

What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

Where: Sevetop Entertainment’s studio.

No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. You're looking pretty fresh there.

[ Agent 3 is having fun looking at all the different outfits Heroes and Royals are placed in. She has no qualms about coming over to someone and commenting on their gear. She has a bias for the more colorful clothing. However, it doesn't keep her from admiring more subdued tones and hues. Her own outfit is more like that but covers any Inkling features that might tip off her race. She doesn't want to solely depend on the glamour placed on the rescuers. ]

After

[ Agent 3 is not in the mood to talk when she returns to the dressing rooms. Her rescue missions, real or not, haven't been going well because she can't use her full abilities. She's upset at the challenge. She's upset at herself for being so scared of falling in the water and dying. She'll recover from that deadly challenge in time, but for now, she is a grumpy, salty squid... who may also cling a little because she's still a kid who had faced real danger. ]

[Mammon is only coming back to retrieve their backpack, but they pause when they see how affected 3 is.]

What happened?

[woomy]

They--they placed me over water! They wanted me to fall in!

[ Her earlier panic over the ocean going crazy around Virgo HQ already showed how much it was a danger to her. ]

[avidita]

[Oh. Yeah. That's a problem.]

...Well. To be fair, they couldn't have known it would harm you. And you didn't fall in, so it's fine.

[woomy]

I know... I know...

[ She sniffles, and she works hard to keep inky green tears at bay. ]

It... it was scary though. If I could use all my skills, I'd be okay, but to stuff like this... it wasn't even supposed to be a really dangerous mission...

[Shit. Shit. They're bad at this. The Varia is filled with assholes, they've never had to do comfort.]

Do you... need something?

[WHAT ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO HERE]

[ Hugs or headpats will work. Embrace the fact that they've adopted.

She tugs on her hat, trying very hard not to make a scene even if all she wants to do is get it all out of her system. ]

I need to... finish the other part of the mission.

[They're still in denial about the adoption, squidkid please have better taste.]

[Eiji happens to spot her looking upset and approaches feeling concerned.]

Are you all right?

[woomy]

I guess so... no thanks to this place.

[ This wasn't supposed to be a dangerous mission unless they blew their cover. It's all Fairy Trials' fault! ]

Do you want to talk about it?

[woomy]

My challenge had me over water! They said I'd lose if I fell.

[ She scrunches her face, trying to stop her lips from quivering. ]

No! I'd die! Worse than losing!

[Kuroko is also looking around at all the colorful costumes.]

The costumes are very elaborate. They seem to have really gone all out for this.

[He's wearing a fairly subdued outfit himself. No one has said anything though. Although that may be because they've forgotten he's there. He tilts his head curiously at her choice of costume.]

Isn't that difficult to move in?

[woomy]

It kinda is, but I hope it lets me get some good Defense Up.

[ She looks around for anyone who might overhear her. ]

And it covers, you know. I got lucky that way.

[ She jerks her eyes upward to where her tentacles are tied up and hidden by her hat. ]

I suppose that is good...

[It must be difficult for the people who have to pretend to be human.]

But I think most of these tasks will require agility. Do you really need quite so many...layers?

[woomy]

I didn't really get a choice. I would have picked something more colorful if I could. They said I needed to be a roly-poly type. But, I don't have a Roller. And what's a poly?

[ She has no idea what that any of that means. She has probably never seen a roly poly bug. ]

[The side of his mouth quirks up in a smile.]

It sounds like they just wanted you to be round.

[Honestly though, she's reminding him more of an armored turtle right now.]

But I'd be extra careful about tripping if I were you. It looks like you'd have a hard time getting up again.

[woomy]

[ Speaking of turtles. ]

Like turtles on their backs, right? But maybe someone can push me around like a Roller. I could cover some good turf like this. I'm bigger than a Dynamo!

Exactly. It's almost a shame we can't do these challenges in teams.

[Although he's not too sure how rolling her around would help.]

[Agent 3's tune is nothing but distress and anger, so of course J is drawn to her like a moth to flame. He's not going to leave her like that - not if he can help her.]

[ She sniffles and pulls her helmet further down her head, trying to hide any inky green tears at the corner of her eyes. ]

Losing meant dying.

[Yikes. He lays a hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.]

[He remembers her panic on the network over the rising waves at Virgo HQ. If she's upset over that now, it must mean-]

They put you near water, didn't they.

[woomy]

[ She may take the opportunity to bury her face in his arm, chest, wherever she can reach from her position. 3's trying very hard not to have an emotional outburst, which is normally how she handles these kinds of things. ]

They told me to climb a tower to save Finnick, and below us was water if I fell.

[Man is she upset. J wraps his arms around her, pulling her in for a hug.]

You made it through. You're gonna be fine.

[ With the hug, 3 takes it to mean that it's okay to cry and turn to a blubbery, bubbly mess. ]
