☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2

What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

Where: Sevetop Entertainment’s studio.

“Every prince is a fantasy, The witch is inside of me. Her poison will wash away the memory.” ☆BETTER TO PRETEND The day has finally come for Fairy Trial filming to begin! No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.”

It's just the first round. [ But she toasts him with her drink, to hide the way her index finger and thumb just parted over his.

Consider yourself her guinea pig. Lucky you. ]

It's a start.

[ He'll mirror that toast. If he was back to normal, he probably would've noticed or suspected something, but he's still got a bit to go, plus it's a party, not some kind of a shady meeting. ]

[ So, yeah, he's downing his drink and the powder along with it. Looks like it hasn't affected the taste. There's maybe half of second where he seems to remain still and blink, as if a bit surprised by something, but then he's simply reaching for the bottle to refill his glass. ]

These things are always worth it for the free booze.

You sound like you're experienced. [ Haruka might as well stick around and make smalltalk while she waits to see whether anything happens. She thought she saw a pause earlier, but... ]

[sharktrash]

[ He might've decided to hide it without even knowing what it is. He'd gotten good at it. Carrying on with a performance in the middle of a memory, and so on. There's nothing specific this time, though, or maybe not yet. Just some kind of... a feeling. ]

In more ways than one. [ He flashes teeth at her, something between a grin and menacing. It might be... a bit colder than moments before, but not overly so. ] And why did you sign up?

[actsmagnificent]

[ Haruka shrugs. She doesn't really feel like being the Youthful Hopeful Would-Be Entertainer with this guy for some reason. ] It killed some time.

[ She sips her drink. ]

[sharktrash]

[ There's no reason, really. Not that he expected her to spill the beans or anything, but he's aware that something is going on in the city by now. He's not going to press it, just like he wouldn't like anyone pressing him on why, for example, he hasn't been seen in short sleeves for months -- ]

[ He actually chokes on his drink right as she says the word 'killed'. ]

[ He ends up spitting some of it out on an unlucky passerby, and having a coughing fit. ]

Fuck!

[actsmagnificent]

....are you all right?

[ Well. That's. Some reaction to the powder, maybe. ]

[sharktrash]

Fine. [ A bit more coughing, and he bares his teeth at her. Nothing to see here. ] I thought you said something else.

[ He's doing his best to ignore piles of corpses flashing before his eyes. Yeah, no. What he needs here is more alcohol, clearly. ]

[actsmagnificent]

I can make your apologies if you need to step out. [ Pushing the envelope here. How rattled is he...? ]

[sharktrash]

I said I'm fine!!

[ The growl comes out harsher than he'd intended, and he almost looks a little taken aback himself. Not too much, though. ]

[actsmagnificent]

[ Haruka does step back slightly - not out of intimidation, but a sense that this guy does need a little space right now. ] Then I apologize.

[sharktrash]

Yeah, well, mind your own business.

[ He huffs, but it's probably as much of an "apology accepted" as she's going to get. Pouring himself yet another glass? You'd bet. Hopefully Magic Powder doesn't react badly to booze. ]

[actsmagnificent]

[ Haruka would like to believe that someone who can manage to infiltrate a planet run by nigh-omnipotent music executives would invent an anti-brainwashing material that can withstand alcohol. But Haruka would like to believe a lot of things that she just can't manage actually believing.] All right.

[ She keeps her eye on him, though. Just in case. ]

[ He would be grateful for it if he was a decent human being. He's not, but luckily, he doesn't seem to notice her specifically watching him. He doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary either, though he seems on edge for the rest of the evening until he leaves, probably earlier than usual. ]
