“Every prince is a fantasy, The witch is inside of me. Her poison will wash away the memory.” ☆BETTER TO PRETEND ![]() The day has finally come for Fairy Trial filming to begin! No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.” |

His heart swells up. Kai was his hero! He had been hoping it was him. He knew it was unlikely, but when they annouced it'd be people off the streets he had dared to hope a little]
Kai!
[And he waves.] You came!
no subject
It's good to see you again. I'll be there soon.
[Hopefully. He can't get as much of a running start on this platform, so this next jump is going to be tough. He steps back, trying to gauge the distance.
It is a little unusual that they got paired for this. What are the odds? But he's not questioning his luck on this one. He has however, failed to consider what the audience might think of the fact that they clearly know each other. The rumors and speculation are already spreading on the internet.]
no subject
BTW, he is a little sad that Kai's not wearing a prince outfit of some sort.]
Oh! Here, I got this. [He blows a whistle loud and shrill and the friendly fish motor boat comes over to Kai to give him an easier way to his cage]
That should help!
[More fuel for the fire. Way to go Kise]
no subject
That should help a lot. Thank you.
[Very nice assist. Too bad they're not close enough for a fist bump. He hops onto the boat, which starts zooming it's way to the cage. He'll be there in no time. That is, if he can get past the actors dressed as frog guards who are closing in on him in their own fish boats.]
no subject
You're welcome!
no subject
Well, this is a use for the vanishing drive that he never considered before...
There are several gasps of surprise, both from the crew and the audience as he seemingly vanishes, and is past the guards before anyone knows what happened. Finally on the last platform, he steps up to the door of the cage and opens it.]
That was a lot easier than I expected. Although I don't know if I would have made it without your help.
[Okay, maaaybe he could've been a little more dramatic at the actual rescue part, but whatever.]
no subject
[Good thing Ryouta's easily pleased by whatever little thing Kuroko did, brain washed or not.]
Thank you for saving me!
no subject
[Realistically, he probably couldn't have made all those jumps, but it's nice that Kise has faith in him. He glances back at the still rolling cameras.]
Do you think they want us to take a bow?
[They were hoping for a slightly showier finish, but they're probably not getting it. It might be time to cut to commercial and then move on to the other games.]
no subject
I think so.
[So he leans down and kisses Kai's cheek]
If the silly romcom cliche is too silly and/or cliche just let me know and I'll edit. ^^;
Except, at that exact moment Kuroko had turned his head to ask another question and finds Kise's lips brushing his own. Whatever he'd been about to ask is lost in the rush of awkward surprise and embarrassment. He was... not expecting that.
The silence that stretches out after that feels about ten years long, despite actually being only a couple of seconds.
He should probably say something.]
Um...
[The most brilliant response ever. Luckily for him the blush on his cheeks is subtle and he's good at keeping his expression controlled. Not that the audience won't have a field day with this regardless....]
no subject
This was... this was different. So much so. Because somewhere, in his heart, he had been wanting to kiss Kurokocchi... Kai, for a long time.
Longer then he had known Kai. Which made no sense.]
Uh... right.
[Okay, someone had to take control here, other wise they're going to stare at each other like blushing virgins. Which they aren't. Are they? Well, he's not.]
Let's bow, Kaicchi!
[Still blushing, Kise takes Kai's hand and bows to the audience.]
no subject
R-right.
[He's grateful when Kise takes the lead and bows alongside him. The cheers from the audience are loud and enthusiastic. Fans will be blogging about that kiss tonight. So much speculation.
It's not until they've been ushered off stage that Kuroko finds his voice again.]
Um... I think there's a reception after this. I was hoping we might talk?
[He still has a job to do here. He'll think about the rest later.]
no subject
[Ryouta smiles at this.]
Yeah! Of course we can talk!
Apologies for the tl;dr orz
[He returns the smile, hoping it doesn't look too awkward. At least the flush in his cheeks has faded. There is some time before the reception, but that's fine. It will give Kuroko a chance to get his thoughts in order.
In the first place, he has to remember what he's here to do. He needs to get Kise to take the powder Gold and Silver gave them. And then he needs to worry about planning how to get him away from his label. And helping restore his memory. Which is enough to worry about really.
What he does not have time for is to worry about an accidental kiss. Or the blushing afterward. Or to wonder why Kise had been trying to kiss him in the first place. It had probably been for the benefit of the audience. That made sense. It made for a good finale. And anyway, he was currently brainwashed, right? So... it's not as if he's in his right mind.
Kuroko doesn't even bother examining his own feelings yet. Because that thinking would take him down the thorny path of dealing with whatever might have been starting between him and Kagami. To say nothing of the complicated mess with Aomine that had ended almost before it began. And even after receiving the closest thing to closure he's probably ever going to get, Kuroko is still a bit uncertain where they stand with each other. Friends at least. He hopes. And that will have to be enough.
Honestly he'd been so busy sorting out his other personal relationships, both platonic and potentially otherwise, that Kise had sort of.... never been considered in that light. And now is certainly not the time or place to start.
As long as he keeps telling himself that, everything will be fine.
So he's entirely more composed when he approaches Kise at the reception. He slides up behind him quietly.]
This party is much fancier than I expected.
[And look, he brought them drinks. He did remember to put the powder in one of them, which he offers to Kise. Hopefully this won't be too difficult.]
Here...
KnB AKA the shipping port of doom
[If Kuroko ever voiced these thoughts to an unbrainwashed Kise, Kise well give him an unimpressed look and go 'I was hardly subtle'
but then again, Kise was also unsubtle with Aomine and Kasamatsu (and maybe he flirted with Kagami one time, but that definitely flew over that one's head) so... maybe that can be forgiven]
I guess you get used to it. I've been to parties like these all my life.
[Maybe only a good portion? He's not sure anymore]
/reads the sign about doom. /gets on ship anyway.
I suppose you would after a while. I feel a little out of place though.
[He takes a sip of his own drink while he tries to figure out a topic of conversation that isn't about the trial or the kiss.]
So... does your band have any performances coming up?
lol, such is life in this fandom
Just a little out of place. Just relax. The important part of blending in is to act like you belong.
[He takes another drink, thinking]
Not... that I know of. We're putting together an album right now. But I might have gotten distracted when someone said something.
no subject
[Well, it is if you're Kuroko.]
A new album? I'll look forward to that then.
[He's honestly curious to see if anything he caught a glimpse of in that notebook will make an appearance in the new album.]
But when you do have another show lined up, let me know. I'd like to see you perform.
no subject
[He didn't know why, but he wanted Kai to take notice of his accomplishments]
I'd love it if you could!
