☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2

What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

Where: Sevetop Entertainment’s studio.

“Every prince is a fantasy, The witch is inside of me. Her poison will wash away the memory.” ☆BETTER TO PRETEND The day has finally come for Fairy Trial filming to begin! No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.”

[The actual fighting starts and... Momo struggles from the start. She may have heart, she may have Hope, but good lord that doesn't make up for the fact that she doesn't know how to use a sword like at all. And didn't really think to practice much. And is still reeling from, y'know, the drowning thing.

So Kido joining the fray gets her a Very Relieved Smile from her girlfriend.]

Kido! I-If we work together, we can beat him!

[Kido's whapping the poor guy relentlessly the second Momo accepts her help. She remembers something similar... monsters, a girl with pigtails and guns. A competition? A video game.

But she ignores it. She's gotten good at ignoring this stuff.]

Just stay on your feet. I've got this. [She's not great at this, but damn is she too stubborn to lose.]

O-Okay! If you're sure.

[She doesn't want to leave it up to her, but... she kind of has to. All the spinning is starting to get to her, you know?]

Just be careful?

Which one of us is suppose to be rescuing which again? [She chuckles. It's just a dude in a costume and with the right decisive blow--

Yup. Down he goes.]

Hey, I got this far! That counts...

[And as the winner gets announced she's just gonna... bend over and take a breath. And cough a little. She's totally fine! Really!]

[Kido will give it to her, but the second the cameras are off them her forced smile melts and she goes to take Momo's shoulder.]

What's wrong?

[Momo grabs Kido's hand on reflex, then looks up at her.]

Bad, uh... bad memory. Really bad.

[blindfoldcode]

[Kido doesn't know exactly what really bad means, but she knows it can range anywhere from watching your entire village being destroyed to feeling yourself die.

She pulls Momo a little closer, not in a hug but in a way to shield her from anyone who might be coming to talk to her.]

... Let's get out of here. [Just a room off stage would be enough. She knows there's dressing rooms. She'll steer Momo to one.]

[Momo nods, not about to argue.]

Yeah. Okay.

[And she will follow Kido towards them, yup.]

[She sits her down in a seat the second she can.]

Is it something you can talk about?

[eyettentionplease]

I... I drowned?

[Saying it out loud sounds silly, since... you know, she's not. Dead and all that.]

I drowned. But I'm fine?

[blindfoldcode]

... In the challenge? [Kido really hopes she means in the challenge.]

No, I... I remembered drowning.

[She swallows.]

Because of the challenge.

[blindfoldcode]

... [She's quiet. She doesn't know what else to be. After a second, she looks away.]

I remember things about you a lot. I was hoping you weren't like this, too.

Kido...

[Being mostly silent seems good right about now. At least for a bit while she thinks about it.]

I think... it happened when I was young? But I don't get it. Do you... remember dying too?

[blindfoldcode]

In a fire, when I was young. And... another time.

It's not real, Kisaragi. Just remember it's not real.

[eyettentionplease]

Yeah, but... it feels real. It felt real.

[She grabs her shoulders and pulls in on herself a little. She hasn't really gotten a memory this bad before, after all.]

[blindfoldcode]

[Kido crouches in front of her, looking up to see her expression.]

I know. It's...

Momo, what else have you remembered?

[eyettentionplease]

A lot of things. Stuff about you, lots of stuff about a... brother? I guess a brother.

[She swallows.]

Nothing bad like this, though.

[blindfoldcode]

[She wants to be wrong. She wants this to be the only thing like this that Momo remembers. She lifts a hand to Momo's hair, trying for a comforting gesture.]

Nothing like that is going to happen to you now. I promise.

[eyettentionplease]

[She nods. She can believe that, when she's with Kido. She even manages to scrape together a little humor.]

I hope not. I think coming back from drowning once is pretty incredible, I don't know if I could manage it again.

[blindfoldcode]

[She chuckles at that with a sad kind of smile, before pausing. Looking up at her face. And then pulling her by the wrist out of the chair and into her arms, wrapping her up so she's close.]

I won't let it happen.

[eyettentionplease]

[It takes a second for Momo to react, not out of embarrassment but out of surprise. But yeah. She believes that. If anyone could keep her safe, it's Kido, right? Momo leans against her, smiling.]

I'll hold you to that.

[blindfoldcode]

[She just holds Momo close, thinking about that first terrible memory. Then she chuckles.]

I'll promise you again when I don't look like an idiot, too. So you can actually take me seriously.
