☆TRACK IIX: BETTER TO PRETEND PT. 2

What: Hit gameshow series “Fairy Trial” is celebrating one of its anniversaries, and it’s invited you onboard. Check out the OOC post for IC match ups!

Where: Sevetop Entertainment’s studio.

“Every prince is a fantasy, The witch is inside of me. Her poison will wash away the memory.” ☆BETTER TO PRETEND The day has finally come for Fairy Trial filming to begin! No matter if they’ve arrived by limo or taken the bus, everyone involved gets star treatment as the makeup and costume departments go wild with the models they’ve been given. At least Sevetop has good accomodations. While it’s a chaotic and crowded scene, everyone still manages to fit in the two buildings Sevetop has dedicated for Fairy Trial’s purposes in this area. It’s one of the only points today that anyone will have a chance to everyone else. After all, once everyone involved in a particular challenge is done with, they’re hurried out the door and to their particular destination. Every challenge has a different area it takes place in, after all. For some pair ups, they’ll find themselves merely being escorted to another set on Sevetop’s huge property. Others will find themselves being escorted to some very classy transportation and taken outside of Vista City to special obstacle courses that simply wouldn’t fit anywhere else. On the bright side, once the actual filming is done no matter the location, the crew involved seems to relax considerably. Whether they’ve done great or not, Heroes and Royals are treated to dinner and a change out of their costumes. Good job, everyone. “We kill the lights and put on a show. It's all a lie, but you'd never know. The star will shine, And then it will fall, And you will forget it all.”

The shoe. Now... please. [She demanded, holding out one hand while the other was on her hip. She wasn't going to waste MORE time in case the security guards could check in here too.] You aren't allowed to hoard it.

[iitrebel]

And I'm not. [Leaning back, he sticks his tongue out at her.] By all means, go get it.

[A lazy gesture to where it's sitting.]

No one said I had to just give it to you.

[lightthedarkness]

Hmph! [She scowled before she moved to grab the shoe. She never wanted to talk to him after this if she could help it.]

Well, bye. [Such a jerk!

Just as Usagi was heading through the door, shoe in hand when the security were coming through the back door since that was how they had to circle. Her eyes widened and she let out a scream without thinking she grabbed Artolo and bolted, the security running after them. ]

[iitrebel]

[What he's expecting: For her to wander through the place again, him smashing his hand on a button to try and delay her the whole way.]

[What actually happens: everything suddenly a blur, his feet scrambling beneath him and a pressure around his wrist.]

[Artolo can barely parse out what's happening, and his body simply reacts on instinct. When he finally realizes what's going on, he bursts out into a hyena cackle that would alert the whole building even if they weren't being chased.]

Holy crap, what are you thinking!?

[lightthedarkness]

I PANICKED! [She yelled back, able to keep up a break-neck speed, the guards chasing after them but there was such a distance it didn't much matter. Nor did the fact that she was tripping every "laser" as well.]

[iitrebel]

YEAH, I kinda noticed!

[It's getting hard to laugh with all this running, and, as he's catching his breath, his vision seems to swim for a second. Suddenly, it doesn't seem like the inside of some stupid show challenge level, but grim city streets, and the hand around his is clawed- green and yellow eyes glancing back at him, long wild black hair, those horns- ]

[Panic, drumming up a storm in his heart, and he can hear the blood echoing the frantic beat in his ears.]

[Without really thinking about it, Artolo finds his footing beneath him again and starts to speed up until his long legs help him keep stride with the blonde easily. His gaze, what can be seen of it with the contacts, seems a bit far away.]

[lightthedarkness]

Well maybe if you didn't send them after me every five minutes, I wouldn't be so on edge!

[She was yelling, but he was also a jerk and she didn't care as she kept a hold of him and the show as they ran, getting further and further from the guards even though she was faster than Artolo. But then suddenly, he sped up? Was he trying to help her?

She glanced over to him, wondering what was going on but refusing to lose speed.]

[iitrebel]

[Artolo refuses to answer the curious look. Instead, he just shouts back at her.]

Listen, you should be thankful I didn't come with you or else I'd have shoved you into every single dumb laser! Although you seem to be doing just stellar on that front yourself!

[lightthedarkness]

It sorta doesn't matter about avoiding triggering the security IF THEY'RE CHASING YOU.

[iitrebel]

Yeah and GUESS whose fault THAT was! [Another cackle.] You can't blame that one on me!

[lightthedarkness]

I CAN CERTAINLY BLAME EVERYTHING ELSE ON YOU THOUGH! [She screamed back at him as she pulled him even faster, the finish line not too far ahead now.]

[iitrebel]

I REGRET NOTHING!

[He especially doesn't regret anything as he sees the finish line... Or when guards that had been waiting before it suddenly appear with a very big net.]

[lightthedarkness]

WHAT!

[She couldn't avoid the net, they literally ran it across the finish line. She started to slow down, panting and her fist clenching as she stopped just before they would have touched the net. She let go of Artolo and she tried not to let him see how upset she was as the security guards held out their hand for the shoe. How was she supposed to have beaten a net across the entire finish line?

She nearly hung her head as she heard the Hook twins give "Oh no, that is just too bad! She was so close."]

I can't believe it...

[iitrebel]

[At least one person is having a good time.]

That's why you're supposed to go stealthy instead of alerting the entire guard force, dumbass!

[But his loud laughter is the least malicious or purposefully grating it's been. Apparently he had fun. Who knew?]

[Swatting playfully at Usagi's hair, he starts to make a move away- this whole thing is done and over with, after all. He continues to laugh, up until his body reminds him that he was hauling ass the whole way and he breaks down coughing.]

[lightthedarkness]

[She's not the violent type, the exact opposite even if she is easily flustered. But she isn't the sort to slap people.

No matter how much they deeply deserve it.

She had gone to get a cup of water and paused when she saw him coughing up a fit. She scowled and then sighed.

Damnit it. She couldn't be that cruel.

Althooouuugh.... She opened up the powder packet and put it in the drink. Ha. REAL victory was HERS.]

Here. [She shoved the water in his hand.

[If there's one thing he's not expecting, it's suddenly being accosted by the chick whose life he made a pain in the ass not that long ago. A bit startled, he takes the cup out of reflex before giving a wheezy laugh.]

It's not poisoned, right?

[Oh, how little he knows.]

[lightthedarkness]

It's not poisoned. [She offered back easily enough since that would defeat the purpose of trying to rescue this jerk if she killed him. She knew she couldn't resurrect the dead here.]

Do you want it or not?

[iitrebel]

Fine, fine.

[Still grinning despite his coughs, he opens the bottle and tips his head back. It feels good, he can't lie, and he stretches his arms out in front of him.]

You're handling this pretty well.

[lightthedarkness]

[She watched him drink and smiled, glad that she finished the most important part.]

Well, even if I didn't win, I still made some new friends here. [Like Luci.]

Friends, huh?

[Weird, normally he'd just sneer and roll his eyes, but... That weirdo from before is still bugging his brain. Art twists the bottle around in his hand.]

...What's the guarantee they're worth it?

[lightthedarkness]

Friends are always worth it. [She good on to say that living a life without them, even with all the fame, all the money, all the- everything, he would just sit in his limo or penthouse and do... what? Just sit on a pile of money? Count all the fan mail he had no intention of answering or no intention of answering kindly? She didn't bother saying any of that.]

If someone takes my held out hand, I'm going to hold onto them tightly.

[iitrebel]

[Don't you read the tabloids, Usagi? You fill the void in your life with a worrying amount of cats. Her last words draw out a huff of a laugh, although there's not much humor in it. His fingers tap along the bottle.]

And how often do you hold out that hand?

[lightthedarkness]

Everyday to every person I meet. I'll hold it out to you, if you want? [She held out her hand to him, and her ire toward him earlier was gone, a genuine smile on her face. She wasn't kidding about any when to any one.]

[iitrebel]

[Art stares at her hand like it's turned into a live snake.]

...I gotta go.

[Is he running away? YOU BET HE IS.]
