"Oh, I was looking for the mechanic. He's older, has white hair that goes everywhere. Looks and talks like a mad scientist." Tooru said with a smile. "I met him at the cafe the other day, and we talked about this tv show I like. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We both agreed the third season, where the Big Bad tries to achieve godhood by absorbing as much energy as possible, was the best."

He continued to smile. "I was thinking about getting a car, something quick, like the getaway cars in the movies, and thought I should get his opinion on things."

He held out a hand. "I'm Tooru Oikawa by the way. I'm the cellist for Pride's Crown of Thorns."

There's a chance that Ivan has come across the other rescuer, but Ivan's not familiar enough to say that he knows him. He looks at the bodyguard following Tooru and then looks back to Tooru. The bodyguard's presence makes him nervous. However, he knows there's no getting rid of them while still in the label. And he has no idea that Tooru is looking for a way out of it.

"Ah, that's why you look so familiar," Ivan lies. He did pay a little attention to Tamara--Aramat's band because he thought she had lectured at his music academy... but that wasn't true, just something he was brainwashed with. "I'm not sure how the show and cars are connected, and I don't know about cars, but I'm Isami."

"Oh, the show and the cars have nothing to do with each other, it's just how we bonded."

Tooru took out his iPhone, pulled up his notes app, typed in what he wanted to say and then handed to Isami. "Well, if you don't know about cars, then why are you here?" He shook his head for effect. "Well, tell if this looks like a cool car in any case."

What happened in the third season is happening in real life.

"I just happen to be walking by and thought you might have needed directions or something."

Tooru does have a good point about why someone who doesn't know about cars being around a garage. It's something that Ivan will have to keep in mind when he's trying to be undercover. Still, he takes a look at the phone and is partially surprised to see what's on there. And... a little upset that he still doesn't get the reference. (If it was from an anime or ninja flick, he would have gotten it so fast.)

"It's cool looking, but I'm not sure about the color... Can I show you another one?"

He hopes Tooru will let him type on the phone because he'll type: I don't know the reference, but I'm guessing things are bad at Pride like at Virgo

Ivan's likely to give out his real identity upon confirmation that Tooru is talking about that.

"Of course," he passes the phone to Isami and looks at the message, putting on a frown.

"No, no, no, this is way too flashy. But you're right about the color."

He types on the phone; Don't worry about the reference. Well, actually, do worry. The ghosts told me that Blanche and Santiago are gathering energy and have for a long time, just like the mayor in Buffy's third season, so think of that as worst case scenario.

So, short answer, yes.

"Hmm, no, no," he said, more the bodyguard than for Isami. "Ah, this one."

"That's... that's a much nicer color. You could put a design on it too if you'd like. The color makes that easy instead of hard like some colors," Ivan says, not really knowing what he's saying. It sounds a little convincing though... He's pretty sure the bodyguard won't be able to understand "art" talk even if Ivan did make better sense with it.

Ivan's eyes open a little wider when he reads the next set of typed words. He can barely wait for his chances to type a reply. "Like some of these designs."

They're doing that? Doesn't surprise me, sadly...

As soon as he types it and Tooru reads it, he'll delete the whole thing to avoid any risk of it being saved and transmitted.

Tooru watches impassively as Ivan deletes the message. "Fuck," he said softly and took the phone back.

Yes. I told the mad scientist guy about it, he said he knew. We both think they're trying for godhood.

I'm glad you escaped. That give me hope my escape plan will work.

"Hmm, yes. These are good. I guess I'll come back later when the mechanic is in."

With a small nod and sympathetic smile, Ivan waits patiently. He thinks Tooru understands his need for extreme secrecy and protecting his identity... though this is one that he could throw away. There are others that he needs to "guard" a little more carefully because of their relevance (or paycheck).

Gods.... that sounds like a goal they'd want. You're probably right

"If I see him around when I'm walking back from my errand, I'll say you're looking for him. But I can't stick around for too long. I need to pick out some flowers for my family. They all have their favorites, and they'll leave me nothing but bones if I get it wrong."

It may be a long shot, but it's Ivan's way of also letting Tooru know that Flowers Over Bones is alive as a group, not just him. There's hope for escape.

Tooru looks over at the message and nods before pocketing it.

Turning his attention back to Ivan he studies the boy carefully. Now that he knows what to look for he can see it. After all, he had watched Flowers over Bones' videos multiple times. Studying them so that Crown of Thorns could be the better classical band.

Yeah, this is Ivan. No doubt about it.

"Well, have fun flower shopping," he said turning to leave. "Bruno, let's get some tea," he said to his guard as he walked towards the exit.

It's true. Ivan has a hard time hiding his body language and his habits. Though he can change his voice and appearance, his power does nothing to help him figure out how best to act and be fully convincing. Some acting classes would be of benefit to him.

"Thanks," Ivan says as he watches Tooru leave with his bodyguard. Then he leaves to take a long route back to his apartment and his band.
