"Ah, Luci!" He waved at her, smiling. He gestured with his cane. "Shall we?"

She doesn't like seeing the cane, but she imagines it's a necessity after what Lesedi did to him. Luci shakes the troubled pinch off her face and offers him her elbow.

"Let's. Long time since I had a lunch date."

Right now the cane is for show. One of the rescuers had healed him so that he's better than ever. But he did need it before then.

"Same," he said and reached into his pocket, taking out his phone as if checking a text, and then dropped it. "Oh, shoot."

"I got it," Luci says automatically, and bends down to pick up the phone. Obviously she's not going to make an injured person struggle to pick up their phone. That's just cruel.

If Luci looks down she'll see this message;

I'm leaving and taking as many people with me as I can. Want in?

"Thanks," he said and held out his hand, hoping she saw the message. If not he had other ways of getting her to see it.

Luci pauses and reads the message, still crouched on the floor, then looks up at Tooru. Oh no.

...well. Yes. Good for him, he needs to run far away from here. Everyone does, but she's... stuck.

She puts his phone back into his hand, screen down. "No problem. Good luck with that." Luci nods her head towards the cafe. "Let's eat, we probably have a lot to catch up on."

"We do!" he said, all smiles.

They walk into the cafe. He orders a grilled chicken salad and turns his attention to Luci.

"So what's up? It's been awhile since we've been able to sit down and talk."

This isn't quite the reaction Luci expects from Tooru-- maybe a questioning look or an objection, but she's alright with it for the moment. Conversations about why she can't leave, usually with Squalo, give her a headache.

"Yeah, it has. You know," Luci shrugs. "Writing, performing. I got cold-cocked at an impromptu thing a while back, that was embarrassing."
