The fact that Terry doesn't question any of this probably says something about any of this. It's oddly familiar to him — teams formed to deal with some great evil, save the day, rescue the unfortunates, etc. etc.

"Some kind of soul harvesting, yeah." He follows Tooru and sits down in a chair nearby, pulling a knee up to his chest and resting his chin on it while he takes a moment to think this all through. It's hard to ignore the part of him that wants to stay; that thinks leaving is dumb and reckless and futile, but Terry swallows that down. Because what's happening here is wrong, to say the least.

He sighs, "so say we get out. What then?"

"They're using us like batteries, yeah. Discarding us when they're done."

He leaned back, studying Terry.

"After getting out I guess that's your choice. Join the rescuers and fight back, or recover. I know I'm going to fight back against Santiago." He smiled darkly. "I'm going to make myself the biggest annoyance possible."

Oh, he likes this guy. Terry huffs a small laugh and nods-- being a huge pain in the ass for the likes of Santiago and Blanche sounds pretty good.

"Alright I'm in, but..." He trails off into a sigh and his smirk turns apprehensive as he looks down at his hands, "there's people here I can't rightly leave in Santiago's hands."

Being a pain in the ass is one of Tooru's best skills. And he's very likeable so long as you've got a brain.

"I understand."

Tooru already knew that Aramat wasn't coming. He wasn't expecting everyone to leave at once, though he'd like that.

"Who are can't you leave, if you don't me asking? I'll tell you if they're already on board or not."

He opens his mouth to rattle off a list of names, but as soon as he's about to start speaking, Terry realises it's not a short list and closes his mouth again. No idea what kind of thing Tooru and Squalo are thinking, but he doesn't feel confident that they have the means to walk out of here with half of the label's latest crop.

But, he did say he wants to take everyone he can, so. "Garnet, Yuffie... Maxxie..." He frowns as he's speaking, because he knows it's a lot he's asking, "Jamie and Lucifer too."

"Jamie isn't coming. I already asked, and he declined." Tooru said with a roll of his eyes. "He and I don't get along, and he decided I'm untrustworthy." He leaned back into the chair with a sigh.

"Yuffie and Lucifer I plan on asking anyways, Garnet I can ask as well. You might want to talk Maxxie about this. I don't know him that well, or anyone from Flashstep for that matter, and since one of his band mates has decided to go out of his way to dislike me he might be disinclined to listen to me." He gave a 'what can you do' shrug.'

He nods, "I'll talk to Max, and I'll give Jamie a go too. He might be a little more receptive if it's coming from me."

If he hates Tooru that much, it's probably a lost cause, and there's nothing saying they can't try when they're out he'd just... He'd feel better if there wasn't this obstacle at all. Not to mention how deeply Lesedi has her claws in the likes of Maxxie and Garnet.

"Probably best to leave my name out of it," Tooru said. He shook his head in annoyance. "It was not a good conversation. He's convinced himself I'm not genuine in my desire to help everyone, and I might have told him to stay out of the way unless he wanted to be thrown under the bus."

He smiled a bit sheepishly. "We're too much alike, he and I. Though if he was to change his mind I'd welcome it. I might not like him, but he deserves to be rescued as much as anyone."

"He's a good kid," Terry says softly, more an affirmation of how much he'd hate to leave Jamie here than anything.

He chews his lip thoughtfully for a moment, fussing with his lipring while he tries to decide if he has anything else to say or ask, but nothing comes to mind.

"Anyway-- Let me know when you guys have something."

Tooru opened his mouth, then shut it. He didn't have a high opinion of Jaime at the moment, but he wanted Terry on his side so he, wisely, kept quiet.

"Of course. I'm getting a list of interested parties; once I have that I can plan."

He stood and headed to the door, bending over to pick up his cane.

"Let me know how it goes with Maxxie and Jaime."

To be entirely fair, he's well aware Jamie's also an asshole, but he's a good person if you can get past that. Either way that's not important, and he stands to see Tooru out.

"Sure thing, I'll be in touch."
