He glared, his cheeks puffing out a bit. "Santiago is using like batteries to do something. My money is to turn herself into a god or something beyond human. No one deserves to be a battery, and like hell I'm going to let Santiago achieve godhood. I've experienced first hand what she's capable of now. She's capable of breaking bone single handily now, of taking a smoke bomb chucked at her thick skull and not blink. Imagine what damage she'd cause if she gets more powerful!"

"Don't know if it's the power trip, or just blindness, or just selfishness, and I don't care. You'd send people to hell, literal hell, just so you could be right and I ain't going along with it. There's worse shit out there than whatever you're talking about. I'm not gonna live it again. I'm not gonna tell Aramat to live it again. End of story."

He opens the door, pauses. "If your world is too horrible, I'm sure someone else will let you go to theirs. I already made that offer to others to come to mine. It's boring compared to most, but it's safe. Well, safer than some."
Safe from crazy supernatural things, at least.
And then he slips out the door.
