A little while after the disaster at Naomi's, those who had attended might find themselves approached- by Luce on Virgo's side, by Luci on Pride's, or perhaps by someone who had heard about it from either of them. The subject of conversation?

Another party. One that involves another mingle of both labels, without being used for any ulterior motives.

Those who seem up to it are given a time and place. Blue Heist is one of the clubs around town that has what could be called a "basement level", for private renting and parties available to anyone who has the cash to spend on it. It's a pretty simple set up, nothing extravagant like the party at Naomi's... Which is absolutely on purpose, let no one tell you otherwise. There's a reason any mics or karaoke equipment has been pointedly removed. All the music is on the system already.

Nope, tonight it's just dancing and drinking, with a couple of rooms to the side that have cheesy movies playing in case you're tired out. No closed doors, no poison at the bar, no murder.

And if you want to take a moment to maybe have a talk to someone on the opposite label to discuss or apologize for the events of the prior night... That's fine too.

Just be careful. Both labels are still under watch, it seems, with a few bodyguards from both sides around the perimeter here and there.

Jecht! OTA!

A. Jecht is kind of an idiot.

So not many people knew this, but Jecht knew how to play guitar as well as drums. He'd fallen into the roll of drummer because lots of people wanted to rock out on the axe and they always needed someone solid on percussion, so he'd never lacked for a place to play in the years he'd been in the minor leagues waiting for his break.

But, interestingly, when a song came on that really got him going, his first response was not to air-drum, but to air guitar.

So there was Jecht off against the wall, blatantly shirtless as always, and jamming along on an imaginary instrument to some heavy metal mess blaring over the speakers. Bad for dignity, but maybe good for making him seem approachable?

B. Shmoozing.

Social animal that Jecht was, he didn't hesitate to walk up and say hello to anyone. Admittedly, after everything that had happened, he wasn't exactly grinning as he did it, but his friendly, "Hey, how's it going?"s were well-meant and sincere despite the more somber attitude.

She was nervous about coming to another party given what happened the last time there was a Pride/Virgo gathering. But she came anyway, perhaps for an hour or two, to see what's going on. She's careful and wary... until she sees Jecht air guitar like a dork and then she starts bursting out in laughter.

It's quite a sight, a beautiful, curvy little lady known for her elegance in red laughing almost inelegantly.

The laughter pulled him out of his semiconscious reverie -- and then he realized what he was doing, and practically stumbled backwards as he flailed his hands down to his sides.

"Uh." Hem. "Hey, babe. You look divine."

"There's no need to be embarrassed baby, you were feeling the music. You can't be blamed for being caught up in it." Her tone is sweet, even understanding.

"Hey, a guy's got an image to maintain!" He was embarrassed, sure -- and a little worried that he and Tamara hadn't hit that point in whatever they had that passed for a relationship where they could really let the guards down. And boy had that been uncharacteristically unguarded.

But it was adorable to her. "If I liked you for your 'image', I wouldn't be talking to you."

"What, you don't like that I'm a metal drummer with a heart of gold and a live-large attitude?" Jecht leaned to one side with a lopsided grin, propping one fist on his hip.

"I do. It's just that I found the air-guitar really cute you know? ...I hope you don't mind being called cute." Aramat says with some bashfulness.

""Cute' definitely isn't supposed to be my image," Jecht grumbled, obviously only pretending to be annoyed. Tamara was lucky she was so hot. "I'm supposed to be all hardcore and metal."

And there he is. Xanxus was wondering when they would end up running into each other again. It seems like a pretty standard thing now. The two largest shirtless guys in the room would end up standing within three feet of each other. Xanxus is sitting away from everything, feet up on something.

The question still catches him off guard because he didn't think the drummer cared. They were pretty much rivals in a weird way. "Forward. Better than any other direction. You look...well." He's trying to be social. He's really trying. It's hard.

"Yeaaaah, it's a nice change to relax a bit, y'know?" Jecht slid his fingers into the hair flopped down over the back of his neck, shooting a glance around. Not many suits here, no bigwigs, no music, and no creep-ass tension in the air you could cut with a knife.

"I doubt we'll get that chance anymore. We're not on lockdown like last time, but fuck those guards are a pain in my goddamn ass." He hates that they get followed everywhere. He can't even enjoy himself. No hotels with hot people. No back alleys to get a fix. No bar fights. It's pretty boring now that they have babysitters.

"Honestly, I'm surprised they're even letting this happen."

"You ain't kidding! Man, I'm not saying I don't want to be a big name on a big stage, but giving up just diving into the crowd and getting in the pit? That sucks. That sucks hard."

But on the other hand, it beat being clubbed by a cute girl and then finding a broken-armed bandmate in the bushes.

He feels that, Jecht. He really really feels that. He rarely goes into the pit. Mostly because he's the floor on which their sound is built. He lets Luci crowd surf but just once he'd like to hop into the mosh pit and get really roudy.

"Maybe they won't fuck with us at concerts. Maybe. But I'd love my jackass to go into the pit so I can accidently kick his ass." Oh, he wishes he could. "Least they haven't cut us off of the food and drink."

"Musicians up here never go hungry, huh?" Jecht couldn't say he'd ever been HUNGRY hungry -- though he hadn't always been eating great, living off the proceeds a drummer in clubs got. Pizza and dollar menu burgers, stuff he'd probably love to his dying day. Still, it made him grateful for the largess. "Guess so long as they're trying to keep us happy and healthy, it's better than the alternative."

That creepy, messed-up alternative they'd gotten a hint might await after that party.

He has. It's so strange to think about. Here, he swore he remembered growing up in a wealthy home. But newer memories were steadily replacing those and telling him that yes, he'd had the finery, but before that, he had the streets.

"Much better. I honestly don't know what to make of it. I just know that since I'm on the shit list, I have to be extra careful. I made a promise after all..." He had. To Luci. And he wants to keep it.

"You really think they've got you on notice?" Jecht hadn't heard anything about stuff like that. But Jecht was a pretty good boy as far as the label was concerned, and was too busy doing his own thing to get in trouble. Or notice others getting in trouble.

Considering what had happened the last time they'd met up... Luce can understand completely if there's not much friendliness. There's a lot of regret in her eyes even as she smiles to him.

"Well, the party seems to be going well, so I certainly can't complain. I'd been meaning to talk to you, as a matter of fact."

Jecht looked her over briefly, but really, holding a grudge wasn't in his nature. Too much freaky stuff had gone down for him to blame her for what had happened. And... yeah, he was pretty much a softy at heart, even if he didn't really know that himself.

"Now seems like a good place for it," he said with a nod.

Her shoulders slump slightly in relief, and she reaches into her purse to pull up a small wrapped parcel and hand it to him.

"It's not much, but I hope you'll like it."

"Hey, this isn't 'talking'." Jecht almost blushed with the sudden surprise of Luce passing him a present, and the commiserate embarrassment of having nothing to give her in return. "Oughtta warn a guy..."

That didn't stop him from taking the package, though.

"That takes the fun out of a surprise if you're given a heads up!" Because that cute reaction is certainly worth it, and Luce's smile is brighter now.

"It's just a little thing, anyway."

"Well now I look like the jerk, taking a present and not giving one back!" Again, that didn't stop him in the slightest from ripping the packaging open with exactly as little delicacy as anyone should expect from Jecht.

"Considering I'm surprising other people with gifts, too, at least you won't be alone." She's not been hard to miss in this regard.

Jecht's gift is a well made pair of leather gloves, something she at least hopes goes well with his usual ensemble.

"Damn." Jecht let out a sigh because, well, they were awesome! And he had nothing to give to her in return except appreciation. Which he gave, in spaces, by unhesitatingly pulling them on to check their fit. "These are awesome!" he said as he lifted his hands, flexing his fingers so she could see the good work she'd done.
