Although the boys made it through the most recent series of unfortunate events at Pride Records mostly unscathed, they're still dealing with the aftereffects just like everyone else. The return to life as they know it is swift thanks to Mr. Patil, but they still have time to get up to a whole new set of shenanigans...

He pauses, bringing his arm up level with his face, and seems to concentrate on it for a second. It disappears, with the same flash of light that had happened when it had first appeared. His eyes widen a little and he looks at Jamie, then back to his hand, where after another second of concentration it appears again. Standing away from Jamie so he's at a safe distance, he gives it a kind of practice swing with both hands, and the weight feels weirdly familiar, as does the movement. "It's just like my dreams..."
And then it clicks, and he gasps. "The others too! The ones I saw... They were from my dreams too!" He is doing a very excellent job of explaining all of this right now, clearly.

He's about to ask Sora how the thing works, how he's making it apparently pop in and out of existence, but that's curtailed when Sora starts kind of...rambling. "Whoa, whoa, wait, what others? Other what? Stuff like that?" He gestures toward the keyblade. "You dreamed about this thing?"
Which has some pretty serious implications all on its own, if that's the case.

"Okay, I'm gonna tell you some stuff. I probably shoulda done it sooner, but I was..."
Scared. Not for his own sake, but for Jamie's, for everyone he cared about. That fear had only been increasing ever since he'd disappeared for two days with only blurred memories of what had happened to him. But both before and after that, the most he's told people so far have been bits and pieces about his first few dreams, before he even had names. Before he'd seen the keyblade, or the Heartless. He's gotten so much since then. If he's going to tell anyone the whole story, all of the pieces he has so far, telling Jamie makes the most sense. He trusts Jamie.
"I didn't want you to end up getting hurt, not if I could keep it from happening. So we just have to be really careful, okay? Promise me?"

"'course I will," he says, giving Sora's hand a squeeze. "I'll be as careful as I can."
He doesn't know how much it will help, in the situation they're all in - terrible things could still happen regardless of any precautions they take - but Jamie's going to give it his best shot.

"I've been having weird dreams and visions and stuff, since like October. Like, I know I've said some stuff about it before, and it seems like a lot of people have been having stuff like this going on too. Someone said it might just be from stress, you know? Like, being overworked. But some stuff from my dreams I've been seeing in real life now. People first, and now this too," he lifts up the keyblade a bit.
no subject
"I thought you probably were. I have too, so have a lot of other people, here and at Virgo. You're the first person who's said anything about seeing stuff from their dreams here, though."
He frowns, pensively. "Who were the people you saw? Are you sure they're the ones you dreamed about?"

He doesn't let on any of his concerns, though, peering toward Sora in the dim light. "Did...he say anything to you? Or act like he recognized you?"

A few tears fall from his eyes, and he quickly tries to wipe them away with his hands. He laughs at himself, but the tears come faster. "Sorry. I don't even know... Why I'm crying..."
It's just intense again, overwhelming, like it had been when he'd been at the charity concert. There's so much emotion in his chest it almost feels hard to breathe, and he drops the keyblade onto the bedspread in order to reach his hands out, lightly touching Jamie's arms. A silent request for a hug. He's normally not one to ask, but just hug anyway. Right now he's not sure what his head or heart are doing. "Jamie?"
no subject
"It's - it's okay, man, we'll figure it out. This is some weird shit to deal with, but we'll get through it, okay? I'm here for you, no matter what."
no subject
"I know... Me too. No matter what, and no matter where, Jamie. 'Cause even when we're apart," he brings an arm up between them to gently rest his hand on Jamie's chest, over his heart. "I'm still here..." And Jamie's hand is taken so Sora can place it over his own heart, and he holds it there. "And you're always here. Always."
no subject
He squeezes Sora's hand gently and pulls him in again to rest his chin on Sora's shoulder. "Dude," he says in kind of a half-chuckle.

He ends up trailing off for a second, not really sure how to end that. There's an odd feeling growing that there's this huge separation, a dissonance between the weird things and his current life as he knows it, like they're not supposed to belong together, but he doesn't know why. And Jamie's a part of his current life. But he also knows that... whatever weird things or powers or people continue to pop up, whatever changes happen in his life, Jamie's still going to be a part of it. He'll always be a part of it. Because as long as Jamie still wanted him, he'd fight armies, move mountains, travel universes, whatever he had to, to keep them together.
It's a realization, the first of its kind because Sora rarely just sits down and actually thinks about what he's feeling. He almost never classifies his feelings, they're just. There. They just are.
He pulls away enough to look Jamie in the eyes, and it's enough to confirm the emotion. "Can I...?"
He doesn't finish that either though. Instead, he kisses him. Quick, soft. Once, then twice. Then he whispers, in a voice that's hesitant at first only because he's not sure if it's something Jamie wants to hear or will accept, but then why wouldn't he? He's accepted all of Sora's feelings before now, and Sora doesn't feel the need for a returned declaration in this moment, he just needs to say it. So. He does.
"I love you."
I HAVE NO APPROPRIATE ICONS i am sorry
And then Sora says the words, and Jamie's not sure what to say.
He can only stare in stunned silence, trying to wrap his brain around this while shock mingles with something like panic, because how does he respond to this? Is he supposed to tell Sora he loves him too? Does he love him? What does it even feel like to love someone like that? Jamie's not even sure he knows.
But Sora, apparently, does. Jamie doesn't have any doubt that Sora is expressing exactly what he feels, and that in and of itself - the fact that Sora already loves him - makes his throat ache.
He cups the other boy's jaw in his hand, rubbing his thumb across Sora's cheek. "...really?" he manages, in a voice that's more of a squeak. "I mean - y-you know that already and it's only been, like, a month?"
Jamie is profoundly moved by this admission of Sora's. He is not, however, very coherent in expressing that.
i am familiar with this problem lol
When every little thing Jamie does or says makes him feel something, and the greatest sight and sound he can think of is Jamie smiling and laughing, or giving him that "amused but exasperated at your antics" type look, he has no doubt about what this is.
"I have for longer than that too I think. Just in a different way, you know? You were my best friend, and you still are. And now you're more than that too. It's like... It's all the same feelings except they're stronger, and they're always getting stronger. I think about you all the time, and I want to always be by your side, so you can keep making your Jamie face at me--" He grins as he says this, and uses his own thumb to briefly pull one corner of Jamie's lips into a half-smile. "You always make me feel good, too... And kind of invincible, like we could take on anything, as long as we're together."
