Out on the Town
Who: Nariko and Yosuke
What: A movie date!
When: Some ambiguous time before the hazing starts
Where: The theater, and beyond
Warnings: Idk it's a movie stuff that happens at movies
[There's a few knocks at the door to Nariko's place, the boy arriving on time just as he said he would. He's dressed in something rather trendy, with a light jacket for the weather. He waits patiently, fidgeting a little bit as he thinks of how he's going to approach this, reassuring himself that it'll be great. He has all these expectations of how it will go, thought of some smooth moves he could pull later on her, the whole nine yards. He's got this. He absolutely has this.
But now it's a matter of execution! Either way, he stands confidently for her to answer the door so they could go to the movie and have some fun out on the town.]

But in exchange, she hooks one of her arms with Yosuke's.]
Whatever it was, you're here now, right? So everything is okay.
no subject
That's right! [He says a little too quickly.] We're going out and having a good time! There isn't anything that can possibly go wrong! A movie date with a beautiful girl!
[It sounds like he's trying to convince himself that he is, indeed, with a girl. Not with guys dressed as girls. An actual, real live girl.]
no subject
Anyway. She squeezes his arm affectionately.]
You have to tell me if you aren't a popcorn person now, don't break my heart at the counter.
[She's let go of the Mysterious Event so, for now: Mild chitchat.]
no subject
Of course I like popcorn! I mean, who doesn't? Extra butter, right?
[He's very thankful for the topic change. The theater is in sight now, and he strains to see what movies are displayed outside of it. In his panic, he forgot what was playing.]
no subject
[This is going to bomb her diet for at least the next few weeks but: Worth it! But Nariko hasn't forgotten about what they briefly mentioned seeing, and she points out the title.] You still wanted to watch the action one, right?
[There's a fair enough variety and it's not like she hates spontaneity, so asking isn't a bad idea.]
no subject
Don't worry m'lady, it's on me today. [He'll lead her inside, to buy tickets and popcorn. Sodas too. He doesn't mind covering- because he's trying to impress. He even grins a dumb grin to lay on the "suave". Which isn't very suave at all, really.]
no subject
[She has her own money! ... Is it really right to let him pay? Shouldn't they go half on it all? But while Yosuke certainly isn't suave that same grin does assuage her worries. He really doesn't mind ... Maybe she should try to pay for something else later on.]
no subject
[He gets his wallet out, and pays for the two of them, gets the tickets, drinks and the popcorn, and proceeds to walk towards the theater they were told to go to.]
I'm totally psyched! The reviews on this were amazing! Plus, the two leads in it are appearing on a talkshow later this week...that we're performing as musical guests at! So, I figured it'd be good to do my research a little bit...
[He's totally bragging, trying to make himself seem cool...]
no subject
[She really shouldn't be particularly starstruck considering that she's in a legitimate band.] If you don't get a picture with the lead actress then it'll be the worst.
[That chick was hot, okay.]
no subject
When I get a picture, I'll mention you on Twitter to make sure you see it. [He's so cocky, he's so sure he'll get a selfie with her. Spoilers: He doesn't later.]
no subject
[It's almost like she can't help flirting every other minute. But it went without saying that she'd tune it for them, if nothing else.
But as they find the right theater and end up facing the array of seats...] Front, middle, or very back?
[Yet another important question when movie viewing.]
no subject
Let's grab the middle. That's the best place. I always feel like I'm missing half the movie if I sit too close...
[He whines a little bit, but it didn't matter since there's a few seats available. He leads her to a few, sliding past a few people in the darkened theater and taking a seat.]
no subject
[Although there's no reason to whine! They make it to their seats and she does her best to not accidentally knock into the people they have to work past. It's always kind of awkward to shove your parts in front of someone while they're minding their own business.
She looks around the movie theater: it's pretty full, so that lessens the chance of anything like hand holding right? Ah, but then it will be pretty dark ...
Whatever, she's gonna eat popcorn and answer the stupid trivia questions that always play before the trailers. She gets ... Really passionate about it.]
no subject
It's totally A, everyone knows that. It was plastered all over the news a few years ago...
[Like duh.]
no subject
[She sounds a little more doubtful though! Of course she tries to keep up with this kind of thing, too, but she's also prone to getting distracted sooooo! It's no surprise that he ends up being right.]
I clearly need to brush up on my skills! Good job, though!
[After all, she might end up meeting some of these people and existing in the same general stratosphere with them! It was important to be informed for the sake of being polite if nothing else.
But for as fun as the trivia is hopefully the movie starts soon.]
no subject
The theater darkens however, showing previews before the actual movie begins. He whispers quietly to her that they should go see a few of the movies that show during the previews.]
That one looks totally kickass! And it's coming out on Christmas! That's not too long from now!
no subject
Oh, man, you're right! [Christmas ... Man, how's that even going to go? She can't head back home, and she doesn't want to work through it either.
But ...]
We should see it the day it comes out!
[Never mind that she hadn't intended to let this go on for very long but. Maybe they can still be friends? Hopefully?]
i had a fun idea i hope this is okay
[The previews end, and the movie starts, with a generic action scene of the protag running through what seems to be a destroyed village, with cars on fire, set in the middle of the day in a desert. Yosuke puts his elbow onto the arm rest, letting his head fall into an open hand as he stares up at the scene in boredom. If you've seen it once, you've seen it all.
There's a small gasp next to him and Nariko from a few girls that they'd passed while sitting down. They are staring at the two of them...]
Totally fine!
But she does hear that gasp, and without turning her head she tries to look and see who it was. What's their problem?
She barely decides against shushing them for being rude. Hopefully whatever has twisted up their panties was momentary.]
no subject
He lowers his tone, to speak in a whisper to them.]
Can you guys cut it out? We're trying to watch here...
[That doesn't help though. One of them squeals a little loudly now.]
She's probably making this worse isn't she
Hey, guys? [She whispers in a sort of conspirator way, like she's letting them in on a secret.] We really don't get a lot of alone time together, so could you just ...
[She makes a sort of lowering gesture with her hand, gives them an incredibly sweet please-understand kind of smile.]
is there really any other way to do it though but make it worse lolol
Just be quiet! You can get autographs after the movie!
[In the dim light, his face has gotten a little red, because was that what it sounded like to him? Did Nariko really say what he thinks he heard?]
no subject
[She pouts at him and tugs at his sleeve. He doesn't have to be so mean! They were probably going to be quiet now, right? It would be fine.] Come on, we're missing it.
[If she knew that her words sounded a particular way, or might have created a very - interesting situation for them, then Nariko doesn't show it. In fact she has absolutely no trouble relaxing into her seat. How long is this movie, anyway?]
wanna skip ahead to after the movie has ended?
[He looks back at her in a small amount of surprise, only because he was starting to get lost in thought at thinking on her words. He doesn't seem to pay the girls any more attention, trying to study Nariko's face in the darkened theater.]
Oh, right. Sorry. [He sits back into his chair, still confused. Did he just take it the wrong way, or did she mean that that way? He gets a little excited at the thought of the latter, but tries to calm himself down. Steady boy, one thing at a time- but he might inquire more after the movie...]
Yes!
She's just here for the explosions and the nice company, man.
And there are definitely a lot of explosions! It's a nice, popcorn kind of movie with an excuse of a romance subplot, but the score is really great! It takes a bit but eventually they're at the end, and the credits are rolling as the lights come back on.]
They weren't even into that kiss, you could tell it from miles away!
[But, still, she can't help loving terrible romances whether they're well acted or not. ... Oh, do they still need to deal with those girls?]
