Johanna's been moody for the past couple months - fine, she admits it. That party back in December had been quite the damper, to say the least, and the way the band had fallen apart for a few weeks didn't help. Stella had told her not to be so worried, and Jo had scoffed - at the time.

But now the penthouse is starting to get loud again. It's starting to get fun again. With the band back to full strength, five members present and accounted for, their apartment actually feels lived in. And now that Johanna isn't locking herself away as much anymore, that means the place is back to being the home of the best pop punk band in town.

Of course, that means that the penthouse is kind of a mess, between the parties being had and the music being made. But hey - that's the price of genius. Or something like that.

As if parties in the apartment aren't good enough, Shin decides he needs to make up for all the time he hasn't been able to party with the band and get to know them by excessively partying with them. After all, the best way to get to know someone is by having drunk confessions in the middle of the night, right?

That, and since he's still young he can get wasted and be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed if they decide to record in the morning, so bring on the booze, the cigarettes, and the joints.

Cloud slouches along down the street after Shin, looking around himself as if looking for any excuse to get off this crawl he was on. He'd nominated himself designated driver, with the aim of finding out what sort of a person the newcomer was, and making sure that he was the less talented and charismatic out of the pair of them, and was starting to feel the deep, cosmic loneliness of being a sober person hanging around with someone drunk.

"When are we going to go home?" he asks, massaging his nose between his eyes.

Shin pouts, offering Cloud large puppy eyes, "You're bored of me already?"

"Yep," Cloud explains, shrugging. "Don't see the point of mincing words about it, so I'll just say it like it is - " he flicks a hand through his hair, "I should be frontman. Not you."

There isn't any malice in his tone, or even irritation. It's clearly just a fact to him.

Shin is a bit hurt by that, but you couldn't tell by his smile. "I'd say let the better man win, but it seems I've already won."

"You did," Cloud agrees, turning to examine a girl who'd taken interest in him. He'd been hoping she'd recognised him, but judging by her look she was just attracted to him. Not what he was after right now.

"Without telling me all about your history, because I don't care... What's your musical background? I don't like to pigeonhole myself into genres."

Shin glances towards her, but looks back to Cloud as if he's not interested in her at all. Frankly, he isn't terribly interested, but if he can beat Cloud in another area he would surely enjoy it. "I'm self-taught. I started out on bass, but moved to guitar. It's my first time in a band, actually. I had a video of my playing guitar go viral."

"I'm self-taught too," Cloud says, face hard - taking Shin seriously as competition. Then he hurriedly adds, "but I was probably teaching myself from before you were born. I used to be in S★O★L★D★I★E★R - "

"We were pretty good. A few of the other guys were coasting off my talent, though. Where are we actually going? I have to record in the morning."

"Never heard of them. You must be pretty old if you were teaching yourself since before I was born." He takes out a cigarette and lights it, "You'd think you'd be better if you've been at it so long." It sounds mean, but he says it with a disarmingly warm smile.

"What are you recording?"

"Oh, I've missed this." Johanna takes a shot, slamming the glass down on the bar with a resounding noise as she grins at Shin. "Congrats on joining the band, man. Thanks for the excuse to get wasted. I owe you one." That's... definitely the drink talking.

Shin's been matching her shots so far. We'll see how long he can keep that up, "I'm glad to be with you, but who needs excuses to get wasted?"

Johanna snorts, rolling her eyes. "Very true. I've been letting the stuff around here get in the way of dear, sweet, cheap alcohol. Never again."

"I live on alcohol, cigarettes, and weed," Shin says with a laugh. Since it seems that he only turned 16 a few months ago it's likely he started doing these things long before it was legal.

God, she's so tempted to roll her eyes at that. Kids think they're so cool. But instad, she bats her eyelashes, her entire being radiating sarcasm. "Oh my gosh, that's so edgy. Congratulations."

Shin gives a hearty laugh at that, crossing his arms and actually trying to look edgy and purposefully looking extremely dorky instead, "So edgy I use it to cut my hair." He orders a beer, not wanting to get too drunk too fast, "That did sound pretty stupid though. I shouldn't be bragging about bad habits."

"Look, you can brag about whatever you want." Johanna's not about to tell people what they can or can't say - not when her whole branding is about being wild and free. "I'm just saying that bragging about that shit makes you sound like a tryhard. That's all."

Shin shrugs, "Fair enough. I didn't really think about it." He takes another sip of beer. "Let's forget about it and keep having a good time. How long have you been in the business?"

If partying is called for, well, great. If excessively partying is called for, maybe call an officer or, at the worst, the manager to make sure they won't catch heat for whatever could happen. Though.. if booze, cigarettes and joints are what bring band members to the parties, well, consider it like Vegas: what happens here, stays here.

Roxas has been practicing this kind of thing since his time from the start, this mantra at the beginning or not. Soooo... when the newest member, Shin, wants to go on a bar hopping adventure, Hell, Roxas would be stupid not to join in at some point.

And join in he does. By being a jerk, though, joints have no effect on the kind of time any party is about to have, but since they're just getting to know each other, upon hearing/seeing of these things, "Wait... you're going to have those things here, among us professional musicians?"

Shin smiles at him, "Why is it so weird?" It was legal, after all, and he's legally old enough to partake, even if he looks 14. He looks over his new band member, "If you try to tell me that professionals never smoke, I'm going to call you a liar."

This joke isn't going to go far, so he'll cave sooner than later. With a goofy smile, "Yeah.. you got me quick on that one. Hah, nice to meet you informally, finally, and glad to see another join the ranks who knows how to kick it."

Not that this is a thing that's hard to find, but living in the moment like this.. you never know. "Hope you've been practicing." By this he's referring to the sense of both musical and recreational activities of choice, all displayed before them.

Shin smiles warmly at his new bandmate. "More than I like to for one thing and less than I like for the other," he says with a grin. He'll let Roxas guess as to which one's which. He's not a big fan of hard work, even if it's hard work with something he loves. Still, he's reliable enough that he wouldn't slack on his guitar practice.

It's as if 'they' decided he needed another one like his own. Yay for him! "I can relate," if they're on the same page, which he's pretty sure they are. "Let's keep this party going."

He'll plop himself wherever is comfortable, within reaching distance of the goods of course, around Shin. "We kind of got word about you.. Shinichi, right?" Hopefully he's not butchering it.

"Shin's fine," he says with a smile. Are they allowed to smoke here? Doesn't matter, he's smoking. Fuck the police.

He grabs a can of beer, though he does look like he might be a bit too young for these things. "So, what did they tell you?" He wondered if the band had seen the video he doesn't really remember shooting of him playing some music on his guitar in some warehouse. He definitely had stage presence and talent, as well as some technical skill.

"Alright, Shin it is." Smoking isn't something Roxas has tried too much, but hell, why not tonight. If Shin is doing it, Roxas may as well too. Instead of beer, Roxas will grab anything-else and start on that. "They didn't say much honestly other than your name, what you'll be doing, and that we better work well together."

Though in actuality it was more like 'if you don't work well together your asses are out on the street' or similar. "You been doing this kind of thing a while?"

"Nope," he responds, "I've never been in a band before, but not for a lack of trying." He drinks his beer, playing it cool about smoking his - presumably - cigarette. "I'm glad to finally have people to perform with."
